Version 3.12.0 has been released and the following has been completed:
bug/fix
exsisting feature change
new feature
Changes to a player's state that occur while the player is in CIM may be lost when the player exits CIM.
Fix: Changes to the player's state are now retained after the player leaves CIM
Globals are not functional after a command has been issued in CIM.
Fix: Globals will now be available at all times from the CIM menu.
Output of the Fig Lock Decay setting to the settings text file includes color format codes.
Fix: The format codes are no longer included in this output.
The ownership of ships exchanged in the Citadel was not being properly updated after an exchange.
Fix: The ship ownership is now properly swapped.
Tightened up ship exchange procedure to decrease errors related to multiple players exchanging at one time.
Tightened up transport procedure to decrease errors related to multiple players transporting to and from the same ship.
Removed message index locking to determine if which remaining bugs are related to that change.
References to costs no longer use the $ sign, and instead use cr for credits.
Beginning with TWGSv1.02/TWv3.12, we have introduced a closed-beta/wide-beta system. Revisions if necessary will no longer be posted for public testing. They will be tested at a select number of closed beta sites, and when the revision is stable, it will be released into wide beta here under a new minor version number. v3.12 is considered the final release of v3 and feature sets are now complete

I think the hosting company is still giving them fits. From what I understand, they don't have ftp access to modify that page.

Could you possibly provide a direct link in this thread then? Maybe I'm just dumb or something, but I don't see where to download it either. I went to the forum homepage and the only link I found was for the beta pages with the .61 revision at the top of the list[?]
If you can't post a direct link, can you at least tell me and others where to find the link that Rick is talking about so we can just use that instead[?]
Thanks! [:)]

Thanks again!
For what it's worth, this seemed to only show up on the forum homepage as it appeared following a log out. Before I log in and after I'm logged on, clicking on 'home' doesn't take me anywhere that this link can be found. When I log out though, if I recall correctly (was yesterday, no time to post) it suddenly is there on the 'homepage' that you see for the forum when you log out. [?][?]
Weird, but anyway if it helps sort things out then there it is.
Again, thanks for the direct link. [;)]

I've got a question about the ver 3.12. I d/l it and installed it and found that not only did it overwrite what I already had as does all the other versions, it also put it's own icon on my desktop giving me 2 of them now. The original is named simply TWGS while the new one is named launch twgs.exe. Well, I didn't pay that much mind until I went into one of my games and was chatting with one of the players who is now experiencing problems with it. He wasn't very specific about them, just that he had to hit space 3 or 4 times to get port reports <not sure if that's exactly what he called it>. I will try to get him to come onto EIS and post what he was experiencing, however, since I don't want my players to have problems I was going to uninstall it and just go with the ver .61 (i currently have .55, .60 and .61 along with the 3.12). When I went to my control panel and install/uninstall programs I found that I also had 2 twgs listed...1 was Trade Wars 2002 Game Server and the other simply Trade Wars Game Server. My question is which of the 2 do I uninstall to remove the 3.12? I really don't want to uninstall both as I have been unable to save my games due to some glitch and I REALLY don't want to have to start the games from scratch again. Any suggestions?

I'd suggest just installing .61 back over top of 3.12, although in general, I think .61 shouldn't be installed anywhere. If you really want to go back to an old version, go to .55, but I haven't heard of any problems with 3.12 anywhere else.

To tell the truth, I hadn't heard of any other complaints about it from other players in my games myself and might possibly have jumped the gun a tad, but felt I had to ask about it anyway. I think what I'll do is wait to see if any other players have problems with it before taking any action. I've already copied all game files over to folders in a temp directory (since I can't save them by archive/export)in case I DO decide to install over 3.12 so I'm prepared for that much.
I'll keep you posted. With luck it's an isolated occurance. And thanks for the prompt reply.

Ok, just heard from the kid having the problem and it seems he's using j-twat (whatever that is). He switched over to hyperterminal and has had no problems so I'm leaving things status quo.
Again, thanks for the help and keep turnin out a kick butt game.

If you don't like 3.12 , I'de stay with the 3.11.61 or above
because the v 3.11.55 had issues with large TWMAIL files and alien bugs.
61 seemed to almost have things stable , was pritty happy with it.
So far 3.12 seems ok .. I have had intermitting problem with extern , but it went away after re-start and next extern was ok again ..
Thats what I mean intermiting error ..
I had installed over previouse update also.
But If you have not yet Exported your files , do so !
And if it doesnt work , then ZIP the folder .
Put this on CD when you have time , to clear your drive.
If you need more help .. email me [;)]

.61 in any sort of active game got huge amounts of game session crashes. Aside from the global mail delete command, I don't think there was anything done dealing with the mail problems between .55 and .61. All in all, of the 3.11.x, .55 is the only one really stable enough for serious game play, even though there are some rather nasty bugs that can be taken advantage of if a sysop isn't watching.

3.12 Question. The sysop has interactive prompts on, I can send # and ' from ports, but I can't from a Pwarp y/n? Is this intended?
