Any use for Alien Derlict ships?

 Has anyone come up with any way to use the five Alien Derelict ships? I know the Tavern FAQ mentions these ships were "red herrings" in the original version. Also, do they ever actually appear in the game? I have E-probed entire games many times and don't recall ever actually seeing any Alien Derelicts reported by e-probes.

The alien ships are red herrings, and do not appear in stock games.
They are however usefull in custom games. You can use them as: 1) Easter Eggs 2) Special Alien ships 3) Cash Prizes It's all up to the gameop. _________________ The Mad Hatter Website http://madhatter.ca |

I have actually put them in as pods for the alien ships.

Out of curiousity, has anyone found an easy way to map out the 'areas' of the universe. You know, like the Slogovian Estates and Simurgh Zone and such. The alien derelicts specifically mention them and it'd be great to find a way to add them to the game in a 'historically accurate' manner.
