I am trying to get a feeling for what people consider to be an appropriate amount of turns for a low turn game. For instance for a 5k sector game is 1k or 1200 turns too much or just about right. I have seen turns in ranges of 600 to as high as 1500 turns for 5k sectors and trying to find a good starting point.
Also for a 10k sector game, would 1k or 1500 turns be too little then or would it be better to double whatever the normal accepted turns for the 5k game would be. Just trying to see what people think so I can provide a good game.

Shorty,

from what I have found. The majority of the players only want a 600 - 800 turn game. Maybe the occasional 900 turn game. They really don't want to see a 1000, or higher, turn game. Unless the edits call for it. Then and only then a max of 1500 turns.

BTW the players will decide if a game warrents 1000 - 1500 turns.

There is no right answer. It depends on the settings and edits. If the fastest ship is 4 tpw, then 2,000 turns is not all that much.

It just takes experience to get a feel for how all of the variables work together.

with normal edits nothing changed i prefer a 1k turns for 5k sec games. and just because a 10k sec game has double the space does not neccesarly call for double the turns....remembner the more turns also can mean the quicker a game gets done with. some people like a game to last a good year so it can develop a good storyline to it.Everyone is different that is y you should try to make a varity of different games if there are alot of different types of players playing in your games

It really does depend on if you edit the ships turns per warp. In a total stock game I like 750 turns, with a very busy real life I find that I can only play one 750 turn game or a couple 250 turn games. I guess you just need to try some out and see how they go. from what I have been seeing more and more people are playing the unlimited turn games. I guess this give you the instant gratification where your turn based games take more strategy and you stay with one game longer. I have also noticed that some of the so called elite players will only stay in a low turn game if they can kick butt and dominate. As soon as you show them your not going to let them dominate or you kill them or there assets they quickly give up. I would really like to play a low turn game where there is 20 or so people and every one stays in it for the long haul, However these type of games seem to be non exsistant. not venting here at all just simply telling it like I see it. God Bless America

Lewd - I'd be willing to play a stock game against you :) I think I am a "so-called elite" and I would enjoy showing you what it truly means to dominate :)

sounds great! Im not looking for a one on one grudge match. Im looking for a low turn game 500 turns or less with 2 or 3 person corps. no edits and 2 or 3 hour time limit per day. not too many people play these anymore and if they do they quickly give up when things go bad. Im not around much in the summer but would love to play this type of game once school starts. I like playing this game but I have a faimily and friends and I cant spend more than an hour a day playing and I cant play from work like so many people do. I refuse to let scripts play for me, (whats the point?).
maybe someone here could set it up. if its advertised for a month or so and a closed game maybe we could get enough warriors to make it worth while.

Depends on the ships. I have a 250 turn, 20K sector game running. All of the ships have upgraded move rates, including several 1 TPW ships.

Drop in and check it out.
