this server has about 6 unlimited turn games!
WHAT HAPPENED TO A NORMAL GAME?
unlimited turns is for people to turns on a script and walk away.
thats not twars, Thats watching the game play itself.
X-Convict(207.172.195.98) port (23)
This is just MY opinion and I hope I dont step on any toes... I'm relatively new to the game, If you dont count the few times I played waaaay back in the BBS days. It is a much different game experience nowadays but it is still the same game. I have noticed that you have your Unlims that seem to be dominated by those that have a great deal of time to waste, oops did i say waste --> {those with no jobs that hang out online running scripts 24/7}<-- there it goes again..[:D] J/Kidding. I have read numerous posts about Unlim players just running scripts and that they have no sense of strategy, to that I say, "Most Incorrect!" This type of game is very interesting, fast paced and exciting. IMHO it tends to be more geared toward the "Wars" part of tradewars. I like this type of game when i have time for it, but here recently i have found it MUCH more enjoyable to play a low turns game. Its seems to more geared toward being smarter with your turns, really covering your butt and I personally find that I am learning more of the fundamentals of the game in the "turns' type. Its a slower paced environment where i am really thinking ahead to what i am trying to achieve. Not to say that Unlim Players dont do the same, but I for one am not as cautious in unlims. Oh yeah, and those that claim to help new players... all i can do is laugh out loud about that one, there is one player in particular that ALWAYS makes this claim so i took him up on it and even emailed him asking for help, and i was told to "send your questions or find me in a game. i will be happy to help if i can.
Remember, i am far from an expert" Now this sounds like a helpful enough reply so i find him in a game. Hehe, every game i find this gentleman in, his corpies are always on kill sprees blowing everyone in the game up and following up the poddings with tauntings like saying "POOF" after they get you, LOL!! it is very funny though i have to admit[8D]. I'm as good a sport as the next guy and in most cases a better sport than most, but if you are gonna say things like the response you gave me then perhaps I should make myself a little more clear... I was speaking of help with the fundamentals of the game, not help getting into a pod, LOL!!! So to that end i can see why there is such a large demand for low turn-limited games. Having a Job and a family, i dont have the time for the Unlims anymore but they have their crowd, so to each his own, Have fun which ever type you play because that is "The Bottom Line"

turns games isn't really slower paced unless you got ****ty competition
most turns games i've played in were over within a week, the difference was in turns games you get killed while offline....which makes the effort you put into the game a joke, unless you got a good bot to defend yourself with

Any game questions you have, post them in one of the help forums here (I don't consider smack talk very helpful, just amusing ) or email me personally at kemper3@roguesrattery.com or ICQ me at 5278795. I will be happy to answer any questions you have. Also, if you haven't already, you should check out http://www.tw-cabal.com and http://www.tradewars2002.net/ Both provide some good in depth information.

Thanks for the post! I emailed you back and told you to send me questions or find me in a game. That offer still stands. However, unlims tend to be as you said...fast paced. I will not let you live in an unlimited game i am playing in if you never let me know you have a question. Try asking your questions or even asking me to corp before you start hitting figs and stuff. My corpies, loki in particular, are a little bit aggressive usually. That is why newbs have such a hard time in unlims. I am in the process of writing an article on unlims that show how we go about starting a game and walks you through our strategy. Now, that in no way means i think our way is the best way, but at least it will answer any questions you might have or show you ways to avoid getting immediate poddings. My offer still stands. EMAIL me or find me in a game and ASK me before hitting figs.

If you don't think your way is the best way... why do you do it that way?

I think it is a pretty good way. Is it as good as Xides? Most likely not. Should have written that i dont necessarily KNOW it is the best way, just the best way i know of.
