Finally, after a solid year, our TWGS appears to be taking off. I am currently running this behind a WorldGroup 3.20 server on NT, and it lives in the same directory/partition as the WG files. This one is on a nice new Athlon-based system, and is pretty fast. It does share with a smaller MajorMud game, but I have no BBS frills turned on (no chat, files, etc.) Also available to me is a second WG server, but it is older, on a Celeron, and much more cluttered.

I would like to set a second registered server up, to be used for league/limited games and have it be a standalone. I do have spare static IP addresses available as well as a domain name. Is this possible, either on a different partition of the current location or on the older server? Or.. am I just dreaming? (and yeah, I would love to dump the WG, but can't with the MajorMud games - they pay for everything, so I need to be nice.)

Thanks in advance...

No problem. With multiple machines you can set up as many TWGS servers as you want. Personally, I encourage all sysops to register and set up at least a gross (144) worth of servers! [:D]

It's pretty easy. Take that second machine of yours and hook it up to your network if it isn't already. You can give it a internal network IP address if you want to save that spare IP address from your ISP. I usually use 192.168.1.xxx for my internal machines. Install TWGS on the box, register TWGS. Set the TWGS to use a port that isn't used by your Worldgroups system, then (this is providing you have a router capable of port forwarding) configure your router to forward that port to the internal network IP address of the new server machine.

It was even easier... that server is already online, so all I had to do was change the telnet port.

I will be sending in my registration fees for this second server.. if it is too slow on the existing Celeron box, can two TWGS servers be run from one machine? (different partitions?)
