Hello all, I am currently running alphaprime and have been having this wonderful mail problem continuly pop up. Is there something I can do to avoid it? I have fixed it by renaming but that only works for a bit. Any advice would be great.

You can delete mail.dat when it becomes corrupted. The only thing you'll lose is the players' mail.
What version of TWGS are you running that you keep having mail.dat corruption problems? This problem hasn't been a major issue since sometime in the .4x releases of the game. It still pops up from time to time, but not consistently like it used to. How many players do you usually have on the server, what's your server's hardware specs, etc?

I have version .55 running. At most I have 9 players on at any given time. I have an amd k-7 1.2gig with 512 mgs ram. Cable internet. I run Windows 98. I had been using Blackice PC protection but find it cause problems so I am looking for a new one.

How many alien races are active in the game? I've load tested the mail system using a massive (1000) number of aliens attempting to reclaim their homeworlds, but having hundreds of Lvl 6 Class H planets in their way, generating around a hundred thousand messages in a day over the course of two weeks. Again, I didn't encounter any problems with the aliens creating mail, but if you have a lot of aliens in the game it's the only thing I can think of at the moment that might cause it consistently.
