Recently i was in a game where my partner was afk, running a script, and the script got hung up. I went to where he was, took his figs (he was in my corp, of course), and towed him to stardock. i cleaned the limpet from my ship. Is there any way to clean a limpet from a corp members ship? he was red and was not safe at sd. His ship was occupied, he was still signed on, just away.

No.
Only thing that i can think of is put 1 personal limpid in an adjacent sector and tow him to it (but you cant tow someone out of fedspace).

The only thing you could do (short of phoning him or logging in as him) would be to pod him and then clean his ship (if he has the pods left)

If he was on a planet, and he has a ship that was swappable and he turned that option on, you could have swapped ships with him and cleaned it.
Podding him won't work if he is on the same corp as you.
Best bet is to IM him, and have him xport out into a different ship and then you can scrub the ship for him by xporting into it.

His ship will not pick up a limpet passively. Towing him through a limpet will not cause the limpet to attach to his ship, nor will it clean an attached limpet. He has to be driving the ship for these things to take place. You towed him to Fed, and if he has Online Auto Flee and he's red, you can ping him with a fig to move him out Fed. I would then tow him to a one-way leading to a Class 0, and wait for him to return to keys.
If you have knowledge of the script and where in the routine its hung, you can possibly cause it to trigger... assuming it didn't halt. You'd have to know what text trigger it was waiting on for example, but you could send the line over the radio to get it moving again.
When my corpies are afk, they are within earshot of the ICQ alarms usually, and can be alerted that way.

I thought you could not attack corp members? So how can you ping a corp member with a fig out of FedSpace?
Only options left are the triggering of the script or ICQ contact. Or bribe a non-corp member to ping him for you and move him out of FedSpace.

Boot him from corp or drop corp and then you can ping him. If there's an align conflict, you can worry about fixing it later once he's back.

thanks for the information, all of you. I left some things out of my first post. There were limpets in the sector where he got hung. I picked up one when i went to get him. I was in a hurry, and didn't scan before going there (I was more interested in getting him out of trouble). I am getting all kinds of good ideas here, though.

Actually, if your corpie HAD picked up a limpet before he went afk, then you towing him to a sector with your personal limpets wouldn't do any good. Once you pick one up, you don't pick up any others until you scrape the first one off.

actually ahab, you are half right. towing someone into a sector will not get that person to pick up limpets - regarless of whether or not they already have a limpet on them. the part you were incorrect in was the second part - you can pick up a different limpet if you are already limpeted.
all this being said, i would suggest in the future that you don't tow your unsafe reds to dock when they're afk. I did that to a corpie in BOTE 2 years ago and he got dead in a big hurry. hehe.

You can't ping him into a sector with your personal limpets for him to pick up and loose the old on because hes a corpie.
Towing him through your limpets won't work.
Only thing you can do like HN said is drop one of you from corp and take care of business.
Im not sure if a photon will do it, thats only available if turns are not an issue anyway. Meaning Unlimited.
Last bet would be to tow him to a dead end somewhere and hope he doesn't get found out before he can get back and fix it himself.
Side note, if your corpie isn't fed safe never tow him to the dock. BUT if you do, as long as you do not drop the tow, you can still leave stardock with him.

I've got a question, if you booted him from corp, and pinged him to a sector that had your limpet, personal or corp, would he pick it up? If so, then you could safely tow him to a location so as he runs less a risk of being harmed. Just a suggestion, or more appropriately a thought about that.

Nope, won't work. You can't passively, or through inaction, pick up limpets. It isn't a result of your ship moving, it's a result of you moving your ship.

ahab you are correct about limpets in another sense: in the old bbs door games once you had a limpet on you it stuck till you cleaned it off or after a certain timeperiod it eventually would fall of(forget how long) was a great tactic to use back then. todays games everytime you come accross a limpet it replaces any that were on your ship. real easy to clear limpets from sectors now adays.

maybe its just me that noticed this, and i guess i have been out of the game for a while... but if you dropped him from your corp to ping him, then tried to tow him... anyone else seeing the problem here? i am under the impression you can not just go around towing anyone you please unless they are your corpie. if you boot from corp and he is afk.. he cant rejoin for you to tow. if HE is ceo, you can quit, ping, then rejoin (dropping, quiting, rejoining of corp is assuming u were red too, or i suppose the same alignment as ceo or overall corp, whichever it is) i dunno, as i said, ive been out for a couple years, dont remember all, maybe i remember wrong, maybe things have changed. hell, maybe im just an idiot, but, that is my 2 cents.
