Hey maybe they are the ones in that little gay bar on Stardock. You know...at the SD main prompt hit B.

Oh yeah the Seedy Space Bar, put in there to trick the Noobs. They press "B" thinking it is the Tavern or Bank and end up losing a lot of cash. I don't really know of its use in the game, except to trick the Noobs.

Correct me if i am wrong please.
earth.
You're wrong From what I understand, it used to be that way in the HVS MBBS version of the game, but it isn't in the current version.

I have moved as many as 6-8 times on my own fighters being -4.5 Mil alignment and after that I got podded. I figured I would try it because someone told me I could do it. That was almost 18 months ago now but it worked for a very short time and I was moving between sectors with at least 50k fighters in them and my own planets.
It's possible, it's also possible you'll get killed your first move. Same with no figs in the sector.

For the record, the most I've been able to move (over my own figs, of course!) is now 41 hops before I got nailed by Cptn Z. The sad part was I wasn't even trying to get away with it. I was testing a auto-mapper script and ran over some blue personal figs from some earlier testing that sent my align to about -1200. I had the universe about 95% gridded (also from previous testing), and eventually I express moved into a sector without one of my figs, and suddenly I'm in a pod. It took me about 5 minutes of scrolling back to figure out what the hell happened. I tried to re-create the scenario, and see how many more hops I could get, and I swear to god I made it 3 hops before Z nailed me again. That convinced me it's pretty random. When you go red, best advice is to get the heck out of the ISS ASAP. (Or land on a planet, and never take off from it. [:D]

Does to apply to other Commisioned ships like the Elite Starship in Gold games? I was thinking of buying one, but my alignment changes due to what sector fighters I take out and what aliens I attack. It would be a bummer to take out sector fighters of a million+ alignment Corp and go red while in one of those ships.

It will happen in any ship that requires a Federal Comission to buy. Since you are talking about a ship in one of my games I can tell you that you need 15k exp to buy that ship also. For the best one I beleive you need 30k exp.

Thanks for the info. If I stay good and get 15K exp I might just buy one. If not I'll be trying to capture one of those Evil Starships the aliens have. If my exp drops below 15K do I lose the Elite Starship, or is it a one time thing to buy one?

As long as you dont export out of the starship, you will be fine. Other than getting podded, I don't see how a blue can drop experience anyways. If you lost experience and can't get back into the starship after getting out of it to..say..moth in an IDC, it should not be that much. Experience loss is 10% of your experience, so if you were at 15000, that's 1500 point loss. A few planet busts can take care of that. I think it takes 20 busts to get back those 1500 points. I try to avoid ships that has an expience requirement anyways so I don't concern myself about losing experience.
On a side note, any blue that is not fedsafe and still wants to colonize should always do so on a maxed ship and make sure the colo script is very fast so it does not hang you at terra. I podded someone today colonizing terra who was at 1400 experience yet had only 400 figs on him. His script was fast, but not fast enough that I still was able to pod him in one shot.

It is a competitive game, soon it will get to the point of others looking to pod people with using Mega Figs. So far it looks like most people have a Dark Nebula ship, but soon that could change. I tend to switch ships a lot to try them out as I am new to that game. I was playing less than a month on The Boss before it went down. Now it is back, but my fellow Corp Members I teamed with are nowhere to be found yet. Not sure if they know if the server is back up at a new IP address?
I started out blue, captured some Ferrengi ships and went red, and then captured another and went back to blue. The alien ships are better than what we can buy, so I keep trying to capture alien ships when I can find them.

Colonizing scripts. I think it is the ANSI screen delay that got him, not a slow script. I usually turn ANSI and ANSI Animations off before I colonize and I always carry whatever figs I can hold on my ship doing the colonizing. Unless of course, nobody else is online, but recently I found some other players busting planets in Fedspace to get 100% NavHaz killing off the hapless Noobs that moved into those sectors and eating 1000 of my shields when I found it. A dirty trick to play, but effective and it is the gift that keeps on giving.
Anyway I don't think I'd buy an ISS or other Starship until I can get my alignment so high that it can't possibly go negative by killing off enemy figs or aliens that are good. I am trying to buy all the figs I can before I buy a ship to support them. The Dark Nebula works fine for now, but it is limited to 20,000 Figs.

The fastest method of doing things like colonizing, photon invading, etc is with animations off, ansi on, and then aborting your display, either with spaces or by having cn9 set to all keys.

This is exactly what my colo script does, HN. The only lines I see on screen are the prompts and my entries. I burn like a 1000 turn game colonizing before Space Ghost can say "Oops, I died again!" [:)]

Yes the aliens have the Alien Trader which is basicly a colt with scanners and twarp and more fighter capacity. The Ferrengi have the Evil Flagship which is just short of being equivilent of the ISS. The Overlord has the best ship in the game but have fun cappin one.
