Is there any way of completely blocking Ferrengis and Aliens from a sector? The game is V3.11.54 Gold. We are losing tens of thousands of figs and a lot of Armid mines every week to Ferrengi. I even had to deactivate the planet cannons and Interdictors, because Ferrengis were depleting fuel ore faster than it could regenerate. I seem to recall there used to be a way to set up sector defence that Ferrengi ships don't even try to enter the sector, but that was back in the V2.x days, and I know a lot has changed since then. This game has something like 400 Ferrengi ships active, and they take out 15K~20K figs from at least two or three of our gate sectors every day.

theres really no way to do this if the alien race is set to aggressive.

I had the same problem with Roms a game or two back. They made an otherwise very nice bubble completely untennable, killin' figs and draining fuel. I asked around and the best advice I got was to warp everything moveable elsewhere. Sorry!

as far as i know, there will be a workaround for this problem in v.56 when (if) it comes out. the new alien ai will never enter a sector with an active interdictor. but beware! if you drop an interdictor on an alien, then it calls a bunch of its buddies to come help out in a hurry, and trust me you don't want that.

The only currently known way to keep them out effectively is to have any entrances to your bubbles set to as close to 100% debris as possible. Meaning of course you drop a bunch of planets in there and blow them up, possibly ending up in a pod yourself. As ferrengi enter they become part of the debris field and help maintain the defense but it will require periodic maintenance to keep the debris percentage high (hazard pay for the unlucky corpie designated to do this is definitely in order). Of course this also means you have to t-warp in and out of your area but you're doing that already, right?

this will only be effective against weak aliens. 100% navhaz will only do 1,000 points of damage. unless thats changed since the last time i played the game. if theyre flying around with 15,000 fighters like in a dreadnaught, theyre going to get through with 14,000.

Weak alien will be effective, but the game i last played in the aliens were flying around with 300000 to 400000 figs and it was truly ineffective just a waste of resources. The rev is right, if you ig one aliens you'll lose mostly all your ore cuz the aliens will just call ore buddies to drain it all.

Now there is an idea!
You haven't said that you were, but IF you have captured Ferrengal and put it at your front door then that is the cause, in this case you need only put Ferrengal in a sector behind the door so they cannot see it.
Here is another idea, get a friend who don't really give a **** about tradewars to create a player and cloak with an IG ship outside your door. Ferrengi or any other alien do not carry photons!....yet!

IG on an IDC will not work if you are cloaked out.
