it there any way to autostart Twgs when the COMPUTER boots, not just when I sign in but when the pc it's self boots.
well NM I'll just setup an unsecure auto login and pull the twgs shortcut into the startup dir.
<shrugs> anyone know of a betterway to do this?

In XP? Couldn't you just script the login and put twgs in the startup folder?

You can run TWGS as a service. Search the forum for info on how to get it set up, I don't remember off the top of my head. Something to do with twgsserv.

the simple way....
make a shortcut of the TWGS progam.
Drop shortcut in to the Startup Folder.
this will fireup the TWGS program at startup.
but the server will not be online.
ok.....
go into server settings and set the startup mode to online.
now when you fireup your system it will autorun the TWGS program
and autostart the TWGS server.
I've tryed to do it the service way thay describe here on EIS but had a couple little problems doing it that way, and others also have
exspernced simular problem. hope this helpes you.

GZ, his problem with that method (which he is already using, the way I read it) is that the startup folder items are not run until a user logs into the system. At boot time, if you're running XP in secure mode, you sit at a login prompt, not the desktop. Services will run at the login prompt, but not startup folder items until a login is typed in.
The service method is something to try, but as stated has issues on some systems. I just never reboot my server remotely so if I ever have to reboot it (which is rare as it is) I immediately login after reboot, so I don't have this issue.

The task scheduler doesn't rely on logons. So instead of dropping the shortcut in the Startup folder, create a scheduled task to launch the shortcut when the computer starts. Not sure about other OSes, but WinXP has that option.

ok it's all better in theory, I set it up as a task, and set it to startup which is nice.
