Here is a screen cap of what i have seen in this game and others....i have found planets that were shielded but a holo scan, eprob, and just a scan of the sector doesn't show that they are shielded. I can't tell until i try a land on the planets with a planet scanner can i tell that they are sheilded. As a side note, i don't believe that they acutally had shields on them, just that the planets were atleast lvl5. Anyone else seen this?? is this the way it is suppose to be?? Here is the screen cap:

i have seen this with my own planets. when i last saw them they were lvl4, and when i warp there, they still look lvl4, but when i land, they are lvl5, and when i blast off they all show they are lvl5. this is in all versions i have played that i can recall.
i am going to have to assume that you saw the planets before they went lvl5, and then they went lvl5 afterwards.

I do belive this "bug" has been carried over from previous versions. I have seen it both before and in 3.12. The problem is the planet's display does not update in the game untill someone/anyone actually lands, or tries to land if attacking. It has been noted in previous topics around the forums.

Interesting. I can certainly cause planets to update when displayed in the sector. The concern here is that the planet "refresh" function is somewhat process-intensive, so it would be bad to have it refreshing everytime a view takes place on a sector. If I could narrow down a view trigger to take into account the actual information that is displayed on the sector view, like whether or not it has shields, I could probably limit the number of actual refreshes to only those that would be relevant to the sector display. I'm making a note of this and will look into it for our next revision.

Thanks!
