Well well. Been away for a few months and what do I find? Still no updates to TW. Big freaking surprise that is. I suppose revision 56 has been relegated to pipe-dream land along with TW v4. And to think you doubted me when I said it was all talk and no results with these people. Little wonder no one complains anymore about lack of follow-through with product support. I mean how long can you listen to excuses before you finally realize that you're wasting your time asking "when is the update coming?" Obviously the people here have long since passed that point. They either know the answer, or just don't give a Darn anymore.

To the mindless sheep who still believe there's a light somewhere at the end of this tunnel, I offer this advice: Wake the heck up. Open your eyes, take note of your surroundings. See all those assurances that are never backed up? See all those endless excuses about why we haven't seen updates? See JP himself moving on to greener pastures? (They say it's a temporary shift in JP's focus, but I'd contend that one shouldn't believe it until he returns).

Do yourself a world of good, and stop blindly accepting the garbage being shoveled in your direction. It's double talk and spin, nothing more. The proof is there, just look at the date of the last TW revision. Look at the last time there was activity in the 'teamEIS News' folder. Look at the posts right infront of you. Two weeks without a response about reg. codes to a PAYING CUSTOMER. Is any of this registering with you yet?

To JP, Rave, Rick and TeamEIS as a collective whole: I am through with Tradewars 2002 because of 'the team'. JP: you sir can take my TW, TWGS and GOLD registrations and cram them. I certainly have no future use for them. You've sold out the people who depended on you, and taken the credit for 'keeping TW alive' at the same time.

At least left as a pure DOS door game, people could see the end coming and knew when the game had no future. Martech may have sucked, but at least you could tell when they'd given up the ghost. You just string people along with empty promises and then have the unmitigated gaul to mention that Martech went ages without updates or fixes for well known bugs. A long time without updates, with well known bugs in need of fixing, hmmm.. geeez.. who does that remind you of?

In closing let me just say that you can feel free to flame me all you want. My opinions are my own, and you have every right to disagree with them. All I ask is that you consider what I've said before blindly lashing back at me, and ask yourself what you really believe. If you still feel the need to flame me, go right ahead. More power to you.

I am tired of hearing an expected update time, then having it pushed back. After several months of "it's almost ready" it does tend to make you skeptical. However, for such a limited market product, I think the updates have been pretty good. Sure, there hasn't been one in the last 8 months, but in the 2 years I've been playing tradewars I've seen 16 revisions to the game. Add that to the fact that I know in the past he has done a good job of tracking down and fixing any bugs he is presented with and I'm willing to cut him some slack. As it is now, there really aren't many game ruining bugs. I don't know of any unlimited cash or something for no turns bugs. So all in all, the current release really isn't that bad.

I agree with Kemper3 , even with the lack of an update in 8 month or so .. the average update over the last 5 yrs or so has been better then average for other software.
This last one being late . I hope it is still in the works ..
I myself wouldn't mind IF Rave sent me a Beta Beta
So I can help get back to testing :)

But that aside , I hope with this wait We All may see the return of the carbo bomb .. a feature many return (oldtime players) seem to recall.
An to see aliens get their PIG back ... I'm sure there is a long list of things .. including in Tedit where it's there but no way to activate .. Ship requires exp .. but you have to be commisioned ..
Whats with that [?]

just my $.02
