I ran into what I think is a bug. I try to dock at this port, and it deducts a turn but just returns me to the command prompt. The port report looks normal -- it's not an upgraded super-port or anything. Anyone ever seen this? I'll find out if my corpies can port there. Maybe I can get the sysop to send JP a copy of the game files or something.

Did it tell you that you have nothing they want and they have nothing you can buy? If thats the case then your holds are either full of colos or something which they are selling and not buying.

We had this problem in USO but shrugged it off as a TWX bug not a .55 bug .. Several servers are reporting this now .. Firstly are you using TWX .. secondly do you have CN9 set to "all keys" .. we thought that was our problem and after resetting cn9 we didnt see it again! .. I would hate to think I seen this bug just 1-2 days after .55's after uso started without reporting it ;( ..

I just ran into this problem. I am using TWX 1.09 but CN9 is set to SPACE. And it is only happening at this one port, I can go to the next sector and it ports fine. Server is running .55
I even shut down twx and swath, restarted them and got back in and it still was happening. I can do CR on the port and all products are at 100%

Quick update, I just logged back into the game in standard Telnet and went back to that port and the same thing happened. Might be a bug in the game.

It's a bug with .55. It's my undestanding JP is working on getting it fixed asap.

So what's the story on this bug? What are the conditions that result in its occurance. I'd like to upgrade to .55 but if I'm going to have problems with this, I'll wait until it has been fixed.

I would just like to add that I can imagine this kills quite a few money making scripts out there. I've been scratching my head all day watching my trade script die over and over. Just recently found out that in every instance, one of the ports in the pair was one of these messed up ports. Needless to say my script keeps waiting for messages that are never forthcoming from the second port cause I never bought/sold anything at the first.

Could this be the cause/related to of a problem I am having with WSSM. The Darn thing keeps stopping randomly and just sitting there. Usually when its on its way to buy more holds. According to twx the script is still active, but its doing nothing.
Here is a cap...
Suddenly you're Busted!
The port Guards surround you in a flash and the port Administrator is called.
He arrives shortly and fines you 51 Cargo Holds and all your cargo for your
audacity. "Don't let me find you around here again", he spits.
The port droids remove the holds from your ship and send you fleeing.
For getting caught your alignment went down by 51 point(s).
and you LOSE 719 experience point(s).
(You suddenly remember that you were caught stealing here before)
Command [TL=00:00:00]:[12244] (?=Help)? : 3238
Warping to Sector 3238
That Warp Lane is not adjacent.
Do you want to engage the TransWarp drive? No
Computed.
The shortest path (23 hops, 46 turns) from sector 12244 to sector 3238 is:
12244 > 2317 > 14088 > 12773 > 9492 > 5772 > 350 > 19591 > 4666 > 5195 >
13190 > 8093 > 5339 > 8083 > 19726 > 4562 > 724 > 8195 > 19512 > 13550 >
1482 > 6650 > 6648 > 3238
Engage the Autopilot? (Y/N/Single step/Express) [Y]
Auto Warping to sector 2317
Sector : 2317 in uncharted space.
Ports : Babinet Outpost, Class 3 (SBB)
Fighters: 1 (belong to your Corp) [Toll]
Warps to Sector(s) : 12244 - 14088
Stop in this sector (Y,N,E,I,R,S,D,P,?) (?=Help) [N] ?
And it just sits there like that. Actually this time I don't know why it was going to 3238. It should have been going to 970 to buy holds. Usually though it actually is going back to the class 0 when it hangs.

On the TWX forum at twxproxy.com, Xide talks about another bug in the latest version of WSSM. You might want to check it out -- that could be your problem.

Yeah, I found it too in a game run by Marious in his Eygpt game, They were all over the place... I notice that this bug seemed to only exist on ports that were buying equipment. At least this was true on Marious's server. My script however would buy the equipmet from one port goto sell at other port, It wouldn't dock and go back to the other port again but I still had the equip in the holds so it froze the script.

Yep it is horrible on his server, you can't do anything except watch your script constantly. I've even had a couple times where my script would go into an infinite loop between two ports where it couldn't dock at one. So it looked like it was doing something but really wasn't. I'm really close to modifying my scripts to make a text trigger for "Commerce report for", because this bug is really annoying.

Can't do anything except watch your script constantly?
Rave's Second Law: He or he who runs scripts while AFK most oft returns to find themselves at the server menu and a one day break from the game.
In other words, you really shouldn't be not watching your script constantly.
On a more serious note, the porting problem is being dealt with and should be just another piece of TW history when Revision .56 is released.
