I cant get twgs to run anymore.. I get this error

Unable to update registry....
Program exiting..

Running win2k amdk6

was running vs .54 as service

I cant manually remove the stuff from the registry either it says error removing registry key...

This persists even after you remove TWGS as a service and reboot? It behaves like the registration is open and locked. I've never had a report of anything like this happening before, but if TWGS is completely out of action and you reboot I can't imagine it would still be locked.

yup i cant even manually remove twgs from the registry I think I may have corrupted it.

Ill try later to reload an older version and see how that works... its possible that my webserver or some other sevrvice has the registry locked.

trying to uninstal program after unsucsessfull instal

Unable to delete folder 'C:\Program Files\EIS\TWGS'.
Unable to delete all subkeys under 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Epic Interactive Strategy\Trade Wars 2002 Game Server'.

and like i sai it cant be removed manually either

Ok in case this happens to anyone else on win2k here is what you need to do to fix it...

run regedit32.exe from the winnt\system32\ directory

find the epic interactive strategy key...

give you admin account update access to the key then delete it..


install the next version of twgs...
