AN idea for twgs...give the PLAYERS the ability to disable the ansi flash screens in the menu's. Heres why...I have to log into this game and move some planets right now becaue they just ht lvl 4, but apparently the servers DSL is having alot of problems lately and at this very moment is lagging very very bad. IT has taken me 10 MINUTES, just to get past the Darn flash ansi screen that announces that this is a TRADEWARS game. I realize that it is not the fault of TWGS software but it would be nice if players had a customization menu for their logon name or something to that affect. Or maybee even just shorten the 3 screen long tradewars graphic.

Actually, I think he means the pretty pictures at the beginning, before it even loads your player preferences.

John would have to make an actual account manager built into TWGS at that point, something that would save settings and allow players to change them for the main system.

This would be an actual welcome addition to the TWGS software by nearly everyone. Some way to set an option that allows for an account application/approval process would be wonderful as well, though this really starts to move into the BBS software side of things. Not sure if you want to get into that, JP, but I'm sure it would be warmly received.

Depending on the server configuration, when you log in, instead of entering your login name press enter (for none). Then go to the game you want to play, enter you name there when prompted and tell it no to ansi. Should make it go faster. As to messages, when you get to them, press a. It will abort displaying them.

If you cant log in to move them then it's highly doubtful that someone will come on .. find them .. and invade them
