This may have already come up but I couldn't find it so I'm writing to ask how to set up race homeworlds so that they stay populated at what you specify rather than starting a game with only a fraction of the colonists you told it to have. For instance, I set up Hirogens as one of my Gold Aliens (there are 6 races in the game) and since it's a homeworld, set it to be the best planet in the game holding 250k colonists in fuel and 100k each org and equip, 10 mil fuel, 10 mil ftrs. This is ok for that particular game but when the game is rebanged and I check the same homeworld, I find maybe 10k colonists in fuel and 5k in org and equip. How, other than going into the editor and manually setting the planet to 250k colonist fuel, 100k each org and equip, how can I make sure that the planets hold what I want them to hold from game to game?

For some reason it never works that way, you have to manually edit all planets after rebang. I have never gotten it to work either.

Thanks Shorty. Guess I'll just do it manually then.

If you are running TWGS, you can always export the game to a .twa file just after you make it the way you want then before you re-bang, just import the .twa file and then bang away. When given the option, select "Use existing data" and it should hold the settings.

The problem is that bigbang doesnt create the Gold alien planets, it only creates the planets of internal aliens, like the default Ferrengal. The Gold Alien planets are not spawned until you start the server for the first time after a rebang. It seems the planets are spawned by the alien server. I usually delete the default Ferrengal before starting the server so a Gold Alien planet can take its place. I have been able to get planet specs to do what they are supposed to for the ones created by Gen Torps but never found a way to get the Gold Aliens planets to work properly. Even if you import or use existing data the planets always come up basicly stock empty planets with almost nothing on them. A persistent newbie could invade them with a scout and 200k credits.
