Recently, SysOps have popularized publishing their Gold Edits through the use of .TWA files.
Teams without a registered TWGS server with TW Gold are at a severe disadvantage. Most of the time, SysOps will not export their edits to plain/text, HTML, or another human-readable format, especially if a .TWA is available.
I would like EIS to incorporate an Export to Plain Text feature into the TWGS to generate a file of Gold Ship, Planet, and Alien edits. Until this is done I would like GameOps to, if a .TWA file is distributed, to also distribute screen captures of TEDIT so that players can see the edits.

That's only fair. And it's not that much work really - a sysop can just use a telnet client to go into TEDIT and then copy paste an entire session into text.

actually, I'm pretty sure the evaluation copy of the twgs software will let you import and view gold settings.

Only if you have a valid Gold Registration Code.
If you did not get the Gold Cold, then TWGS wether eval or not. Will not let you see any of the gold settings. If I remember correctly, it also will not import a gold game. As the game will require that Gold settings to be turned on. And if you do not have a Valid Gold Code. Then Gold settings can not be turned on.

you know i've asked you this before and i never got a response, and i'm just really curious what is up with the periods after every phrase?
It makes it rather diffult. To read. Public education gone bad? Attempt to sound cool? Get a bonus every time you use a . ?
Heh.

Actually, the use of periods and commas in sentence structure is simply good puncuation and lets the reader know when he's done with one thought and heading off to another instead of reading one long sentence that you can get lost in very easliy.

Not sure where to ask this question , so I am asking it here. I have just recently started playing twar again. I also had played twar on a local BBS in columbus Ohio about 8 yrs ago. I recently went to Coastgames and have played a few turns in several games there, but I seem to not be able to get ANSI colors and graphics. Just like when I first went to the bbs so many yrs ago. Does anybody have any idea why it is not working. If I play the game I downloaded to my pc aND play just to refresh myself I get all the colors and graphics. thanks 4 ne help. Jay

If you want ansi graphics, you'll also need to be using a telnet client that supports it. The default telnet in win9x does not. The default client in win2k does. Not sure on winxp. I personally use zoc, but there are a lot of options out there, so just look around.

WinXP telnet client supports full ANSI color, same as Windows 2000.
