I thought I was actually helping in finding the trouble and reason he wanted the UUID.

To my understanding it was because he was hosing the Swath database.
I thought I had solution without programing.

Like I said, I think your advice was good and well intentioned. I just wanted to suggest that a thread on another forum would be a better way to go about it, so we can keep this particular forum on task. We've done that with a few other feature requests here. Then it's up to member to decide if they want to participate in that debate.

Think of it like a reverse-smack-talk-forum. It's become clear to me that a lot of people avoid this site because different viewpoints are not often welcomed. So I wanted this particular area to be as non-confrontational as possible, so someone who might be reluctant to post in other areas might still take advantage of this area. I know from experience that I get a much greater variety of input from the community through personal email than I do through this forum.
