When the setting for Who's Online is set to off, you can still detect a player is online by sending them a private hail. If the player is online, they get the message, If they are offline, the message goes to the mail server. I think the fix for this would be to have all private hails go to the mail server when "Who's Online is set to off. H |

They can still tell if you are online by watching the CLV. |

Why do you want to turn it off...? makes no sense.... With relog scripts everyone knows everyone is on... may not be at the keys...but logged on... What is the logic ? Something else to mess up the way we play the game... |

Were you online when Kraaken invaded you? |

No I wasnt ... but do you hanestly think i lost the tournament because they knew i was off line... i doubt it ....I found it more annoying ...do you know how many times you hit # out of habit when you play.... its part of play now ...always checking to see who is there... There is no advantage to turning it off... Are newbies playing manually going to be hitting CLV to see if Vid gained 1 or 2 exp points... why turn it off... can we just play the game...instead trying to build the Anti-Kraaken version of TW |

I agree with you, this feature does not seem to have the desireed effect even if hails and CLV are fixed. |

IF we do try to fix this we should also fix the CLV screen to update as often as the T-menu High scores screen , that way both features work the same. This will keep all players in the dark .. lol |

Helix wrote: I thought they were already synced, good catch Vid. H They're not synced because inside the game you do need current CLV. We just need to abandon the blocking "Who's online" entirely. |

We just need to abandon the blocking "Who's online" entirely. And why must you have an updated clv? Maybe just have it update on a ship change, a podding or an #SD#. And why abandon a setting thats been in the TWGS long before v2.xx ever came out. H |

I don't want to block seeing "Who's online". I ment to abandon that toggle. It does not give us the desired effect without changing too many other things. CLV tells me who's cashing among other things. CLV is the "pulse" of the game in multi-player mode. Watching the CLV and the daily logs allowed me to teach Orion a more efficient way to furb reds. |

When we are trying to derail Kraaken .. shouldn't we derail any tactic that they use ..as well as others. You said change was good .. can't you see the benefits here ? |

That setting was around long before v2.xx, it just needs to be tweaked to have the correct result. H |
