Just checking, Kewlbreeze may be pulling my leg here. Is there a bug associated with the v-screen fig count? |

Common trick to load up the mothing ships so the other team "thinks" they are ahead in fig count. |

... and for some reason it is setup to require an hour from the time the last update was viewed to be able to get a new update. View the v-screen at 3:15 and those stats stay until 4:15... A 15 minute interval would be better if the reason for the delay is taxing the server. |

OK, thanks guys. No bug here, that's how it's always been. I agree with Prom, updates every 15 min. would be nice. |

Don't forget about this one. The V-screen only includes planet figs that have been updated during that time period. Another words if a player/corp has a lot of colonists on planets producing fighters and they haven't logged into the gamed for awhile, then the V-screen won't include the fig production of those planets since the last time someone updated them. Planet figs only update the V-screen when someone attempts to land on those planets. |

Well these thing become self evident in an old unlim someone has left on there server for a year unbanged The players get bored and move on. But when you go to Moth the planets then u get the cannon bug and once u try to land one time then the V screen figcount jumps way up. |

OK so we're talking only a small percentage that this fig count is off by at any given time in an active game. That's fine, we don't need to change this. I think it's good that it gives us a general idea of the figs in the game without a precise up-to-the moment update. |

I have no problem improving this system. More frequent updates are definitely reasonable. As far as showing more timely updates of planet fighters, it would be too much processing to touch each planet with a V update. I have an idea of how to handle V screen fighter production projections, but I need to finish a few other things before I take a look at it. |

Just making the change so that it counts all the figs on empty ships would be a definite improvement. H |

Vid Kid wrote: Helix , now isn't that changing the game ? maybe best left for V4.xx maybe ? But the figs on unmanned ships are technically in the game? So I always thought that they should have been counted. If this was done intentionally, why? or was it an oversight from the beginning that just got carried over? |

Probably an oversight carried over. |

More likely just too much processing for the game at the time it was developed. Though it's possible that Gary had other reasons for leaving it out. I highly doubt Gary forgot to include unmanned ships. As for processing overhead, having to touch every ship in the game (maximum 2000) during a V screen update is a bigger task than touching one ship per player (maximum 500). At this point, it's probably not that big of a deal to process every ship rather than just manned ships, though. But the point has been made that this does represent a change in gameplay, and not everyone wants changes, even if they are improvements. |
