The new edits require major cash for twarp ships

A larger amount available at the Bank would be helpfull. 500k doesnt always buy you a ship and torps to get gas etc.

I agree. The setting should be configurable by the edit designer or sysOp to take into account that particular edit. A range of 500k to maybe 2M or so? If someone has 2M stashed in their account they might be more likely to come back after getting SD if they knew they might be able to get a decent restart.

I have also wondered about a corp account, and that would allow the personal account to remain at 500k with the corp account set at 2M or whatever makes sense.

You could make a player that would respond to bot commands via private hail.
It would assign each user a password, and it could behave as a bank, grabbing
cash from the galactic bank as it's deposited, pushing cash as requested.

So yes, a clever sysop script could do it.

Actually I was just looking for a increase in the bank size. I thought this might be an easy change in the beta software and would help keep games from being locked down as this is a sysop complaint i hear alot

gonna agree with parrothead here. a bigger bank account would be nice, especially if it was a variable which could be set for a specific edit...

How hard would it be in the TWGS to add a zero to the $500k value to make max bank amount ?

This being part of the new TWGS , with that new eprobe value increase .

Then in most edited it would be possible to bank enough to by the million dollar ships.

Well it's clearly a data type. A 16 bit would only go up to 65k,
so it's probably 32 bit. If that's the case, it could go up to
millions and millions. From JP's perspective, it should be a very
easy thing to increase.

The max was actually hard-coded, but it's not too much trouble to add a new value to the config record. The hard part is just adding it to tedit.

I've added a new item to TEDIT, General Editor Two, menu item T, "Max Bank Credits". It ranges from 50,000 cr to 5,000,000 cr. Those caps are arbitrary. It could be higher or lower. I just went from 1/10th to 10x.

Adding a corp account would be quite a bit more work and it's not something I'm interested in doing right now.

A person can hold up to 1b cash. Can you bring up the max to that?

Ok, will do.

So, since this is needed for Gold edits, I should make it a Gold-only setting so that stock games are guaranteed to have default bank balance capacity.

np. It makes sense if costs are configurable then bank balance cap needs to be configurable.
