I probably had the server down for awhile when you tried to connect before. There have been some odd glitches related to logging on and off, but only on SG's site. SG's server has been very glitchy with hangs, crashes, failed logins, etc, but these problems haven't really shown up on my multiple test machines here (XP, XP64, and Vista 64 on Intel 32 bit, 64 bit and AMD 64 bit) or the 21-6 server (Server 2003 on Intel). All of the crashes are the same error in NTDLL.DLL, so it's possible there's a conflict with device driver or something. I even verified that the error had occurred on Space Ghost's site prior to his upgrade from the last public version to the beta, so this isn't new to the beta. Just something that's showing up under Space Ghost's particular setup, I think. I had one clue that it might be caused by an error in the TWGS-to-TW IPC which uses NTDLL.DLL. When running all 100 nodes, the game would frequently crash on startup, but when running 99 nodes with one extra node's buffer space to mask a buffer overrun, I haven't seen a crash. So I made some changes to the IPC code that I hope will resolve this issue and I've posted the update to both sites. Both need to be tested for stability. Anyone who can point a helper at the twgs.21-6.com server and log in, maybe jump in a game, but keep it pointed there ready to re-log if booted, that'll help me test server connection load to verify that it's working ok on that site. |

Great. I had an error in TEDIT and a server crash, so I've put debug versions back up so I can capture info if it happens again. |

I did it .. it was me When I was in game I , tedit checking ships .. the deleted ships .... the last few I can check and then it bounces me out to Tedit screen after trying to close game. This is what I was asking about .. will the new TWGS fix deleted ships/planets and remove them from the exported TWA ?? This would fix all the broken TWA files that have deleted markers in them. Vader has a few edits like this , Moo2 has many , Sub Zero has some ... I'm sure others have seen them in TWA's and would be nice to have them removed. But we as end users can not remove them. |

Helix, I'm dropping the server a lot tonight because I'm testing something that can only be tested on the server. Vid, the problem is I can see those deleted records but I have no idea how they were created. What I'd like to do is fix it so they can't be created. But I will also see about clearing them up on load of TEDIT so these records will autorepair. |

the way they were created , seems a little simple .. create one .. delete it ... maybe go 2 ships down create a new one .. then delete it .... do this a dozen times and I'm sure one will stick. Maybe we can get Vader in here , his TWA's seem to have a few in each ... But I look forward to anything that can fix this , even a standalone program so I can run a batch on all the TWA's I have. Just a thought. |

I'll give that a try and see if I can spot the problem. Whether or not I can fix the cause, I definitely need to deal with corrupted TWA files so old TWAs can still be used. |
