Post subject:  Beta Server Out of Commision.
The beta server is really lagging and can't log into any games before it disconnects. I'm thinking Cruncher running wssm in game B blew it up. laff Just joking, but the game has never seen Cruncher move that fast.

I'm betting that whoever looks at the server next will find that the cpu is maxed at 100%. If they can't get to the server except remotely and the option to reboot is still there, I'd definitely use that option.

I was able to get on remote, but.. this is one of JP's friend's servers and I beleive they use it for work. I'm not about to remote Reboot some guy's work machine. He may be in the middle of an important download.

Yes, that's a risk, of course letting the cpu run at 100% is quite a risk too. Glad it's not my machine. heh Maybe we need a remote display that shows server cpu usage. With it lagging that bad, something is definitely hung up hard.

Sounds like a hung process. Prolly should figure out what process it is before
killing it. If it's a server-related process then that would be a beta bug that
JP needs to fix.

What is the Cycle Server option do?
Does it shut down and restart server?
Seems I would try that before I mucked with rebooting remotely.

Darn Windoze lusers anyway... Reboot is always high on the list of options. (Shouldn't be that way) IMHO

Cycle server basically reboots twgs, and that's actually the option I was talking about. I forgot that it even had a server reboot option.

I just got word of this problem and I've sent a message to the guys who run the server. Going to require a reboot, but I didn't want to do that remotely without permission. I tried to cycle TWGS, but that failed and now I don't even have remote TWGS access. Remote desktop is also not working. Hopefully it'll get rebooted in the next few hours and I can try to figure out what happened. If nothing else, I'll back up to previous update since it's likely a change I made in the latest that caused this.

Ok, I isolated the problem. TW2002 sessions were not closing after a disconnect so there's probably a few thousand TW2002 processes running right now and it overloaded the system. That'll be easy to fix, but I'm still waiting on the server to be reset.
