None of the pace settings have changed, only thing new was the addition of the access modes.

Could just be a load on the server itself, too.

Yeah, I thought about that after I posted this. Classictw is not a dedicated TWGS server, I have to remember we're only guests on someone elses's hardware.

Hmmm. What we're using now is the PlanetServer hosting that Space Ghost was paying for out-of-pocket. I have no idea how long it will last. I'm happy to be able to continue providing the beta site for as long as it lasts. Once it's gone, I've already had an offer from another fan of the game who's brother runs a company that provides hosting for game servers (quake servers, that kind of thing). I haven't really nailed down the details on that, but it's something I will look at. If you have a stable site where twgs.classictw.com could reside, I would also consider that.

I just read news that SG's wife will be moving to PA this fall. So if it was something he's been paying for, I suspect that will end when Dena & TJ move.

Anything is possible. My server has been online since I bought it in 2003. Since it does absolutely nothing else except host 2 very small static websites, it might be ok. I will say though if you can get space on a hosting companies servers, it would probably be a little safer.
