JP,

Looks like there might be a problem with TWGS 2.07 failing to load games. I sent you details by email and PM.

So far this hasn't shown up on the beta server. I'm waiting for one of the sites to report that the problem has appeared again and then I'll have a look at the server to see if I can get a clue.

I'm not having any problems with 2.07 on my server either.

Unless it's just not getting reported, it's happening in a low percentage. There are over 60 servers active at this time (that I know of) and only those that you've found with Microbot have reported the behavior.

Microbot was actually triggering an earlier bug because it was doing something that is uncommon. I wonder if it could be triggering something on these sites now. Still doesn't account for why other 2.07 sites are not having this problem.

I'm going to see if Slother or one of the others will back up to 2.06 to see if the problem goes away to double-check that it's definitely new to 2.07.

Microbot is currently scanning 14 servers running 2.07.

Is it possible to run 2 copies of twgs v2 on the same server but on separate IP's. It may cause a windows registry error or blow my licence.
I can put the final back up of 2.06 online on another IP and make it so ONLY Microbot can access it.
let me know if it will effect my licence or registry.
thanks.

TWGS can only run 1 per machine. If you install on the same machine, it'll overwrite your current install.

Most of the sites currently running are running v2.07 (44 since yesterday). The percentage of sites on your list with this problem seems to be much higher than the overall percentage. 3 out of 14 tested by Microbot, but no other reports have been made. Just something to consider. Maybe a clue in that... I just wish it was happening on the beta site :(

I'm still waiting for Slother's site to break again so I can take a peek.

Any servers not on my list, have not activated Jumpgate as a public server, posted their server on the forum, or posted on the facebook page.

Provided the licensing is taken care of, this could be done within a virtual environment.

Sure, that's probably true. TWGS stores configuration under hkey_local_machine, and it also detects whether or not it's already running and will bring itself to the forefront rather than running a second instance. It is definitely not designed to be run multiple instances per machine. I looked into removing that restriction, but it was too messy.

If you trick it into thinking it's on a different machine by using virtual environments, I bet that would work.

In terms of licensing, I ask that only one public site run under a given license. But you can run the server on multiple machines for testing, working on edits, etc.

Post subject:  Re: TWGS 2.07 Bug

i have been having problems ever since v2.02. so it's not just 2.07. i even wiped my HDD and reinstalled windows. and TWGS and the problem has not went away. (thinking it was a data problem)

in versions 2.03 - 2.05 it was kicking the users out that said yes to viewing the daily logs. in 2.06 and 2.07 the game was not starting at all. but only after a few days after running.

just in case i might as well give you my specs to see if it was a OS problem

Vista 32 SP2 ultimate edition.
Pentium D 2.8 dual core.
3 GB of RAM
2 TB HDD

that's all i can remember as i am writing this from work and will be home shortly to give you that Code that you requested by email John.

thanks.

Not sure if this has anything to do with it ..

Loading the log screen and showing all games .. the game in slot Z does not show up in tabs.

I even tried refresh on both error tab and game info of the log window.

No improvements.

that is all I've found so far.
