 TWGS Game Server New Bangs 8/2 3PM CST
Apologize for not banging today like I had hoped. The problem is now fixed and we are going to be up and going at 3PM CST. Let's hope this one goes without a glitch.
We'll be running two turn based edits and three unlimited edits. Have tweaked server settings and alien settings to things should run smoother and be a bit more of a challenge. To see the current settings the test games with the settings we'll be using is up and running as we speak, if you see anything out of the ordinary please let me know so I can make adjustments before bang day.
Game List A) Stock Game (Citadel upgrade time cut in half). 1200 turns per day with a 3 day turn bank. 5000 sectors with active Ferrengi. MBBS compatible.. 3 man corps. No Truce.
B) Pirates Final Edit. 1200 turns per day with 3 day turn bank. 5000 sectors no aliens. MBBS compatible. 3 man corps. No Truce.
C) SubZero. Unlimited Turns. 20K sectors. Active alien. 1 man corps. No Truce.
D) SubZero. Unlimited Turns. 20K sectors. Active alien. 3 man corps. No truce.
E) SubZero. Unlimited Turns. 20K sectors. Active alien. 1 man corps. 3 day truce (When days on v=4)
Truce Rules No player vs player combat. Once an alien planet has been captured it cannot be recaptured by a non-alien until truce is over. Capturing player controlled planets is forbidden until truce is over. No sector will be permitted to have over 15% NavHaz. No blockading Federation space, Stardock, or Class 0 ports. Blockades would be described as a sector with more then 1 deployed fighter, or any amount of armid mines, or a planet with an active sector level quasar cannon, or nav haz of over 15%. Blockading is allowed after truce is over. No armid mines are allowed until truce is over. No more then 1 deployed fighter per sector until after truce is over. No destroying ports. No interdictor generators may be activated on non-aliens until truce is over. Quasar Cannons may be active but only at atmospheric levels. Alien planet farming is forbidden. Planets are not allowed to be parked in adjacent sectors of Federation space, Stardock, or any class 0 ports until truce is over.

No sector will be permitted to have over 15% NavHaz.
This rule should be changed to no navhaz outside of your base. It leaves the door open to creating 10% navhaz in open space and in fedspace. This can be troubling especially in fed space. (ie want to stop someone from express tow colonizing? pop a planet and zdy it in a sector they are passing through. - it stops them until they pop a planet to get rid of the haz, then you can just destroy it again after they start it up again)

Will update the rule on the next bangs.
As for your ping Angoth. Sometimes my grandma uses the server computer. I am working on some things with her desktop cause it runs like crap.
Anyway, I will make my laptop accessible to her so she doesn't lag the server down.

Just be sure to tell her if a message warns her that she has spyware and to "Install this free tool to fix it" - that it is a scam! I have had to clean this up for several elderly and not-so-elderly people lately.
I really hate the guys who make that crap.

Also, the truce rules dont really address base defense.
I suggest
You may defend the opening of your base (this opening must only have 2 warps) You may use sector cannons, figs (Off, def, toll, of any number), mines (armids and limps) in this sector only, no IGs, ship or planet allowed. All other sectors in the base must be treated any other in the game. (ie no armid mines, no sector cannons, no more than 1 fig per sector.)
I think that with this, you pod a person at the opening to your base, not kill them by sector cannons, mines or offensive figs if they get past your defenses in that sector. Fortifying the opening only will stop the roach motel and other ways of killing a person's pod. The idea is you want to keep people out not kill them if they get in. Players can then set an avoid on the base sector and not run into it again

Dude, chill out. Some people work for a living. The violations were reported this morning. That doesnt mean a sysop can stop, leave work (or what ever) and take care of it. Or that he has even got the message yet. Give the sysop time.

Game will be rebanged later in the week.
Sorry I couldn't get to it faster. My shift is changing and I was sleeping all day. I'm back on nights again for a while.
Looking to rebang Friday with updated truce rules.
As for anyone else who pulls violations, you will just be banned automatically, no second chances, no excuses. Don't bother even trying to talk to me, not like you would probably care anyway.
