I'm currently waiting on a new asus a7a board, as soon as it arrives, the Notorious TWGS will be underway- I do not plan to bang the first game for at least 1 month..
Every game I bang will be created from scratch, from alien races (with modern ship and player names) to planet descriptions and ansi's. Nothing will be spared or forgotten, to start we will have a 750 turn game, 1.2k turn game, and one 7k turn game. All 3 Games will be totally different.
For those of you who have ansi talent and like to volunteer, I sure could use a few helping hands I'll be editing all ships, and most planets. Eventually we will edit stardock, however that won't be until after X-mas.
Thanks for your time and patience.

On the initial test run, Notorious TWGS failed miserably.
The asus board is fantastic, and processor is wonderful, the initial drive used for the twgs,
a MDT (Magnetic Data Technologies) 40 Gig 2700 RPM ata 133 drive, failed.
The drive crashed, reason is yet to be known- I think it was just a cheap drive (45 dollars, NIB, 3 months old)
I'm requesting a refund, or a new drive from the company, which has yet to respond. After the drive is replaced, I will turn the box back on- Hopefully by then I'll have T1 access here locally (stupid SBC doesn't have it in my area yet) I can get a 1/2 or 1/4 T1, but only for a few dollars less than the full bandwidth.. I'm shooting for febuary/march, but we'll see what happens.
Thanks to everyone who gave support to Notorious!

Who made the drive? Usually Maxtor and Quantum drives have given me problems. Seagate and Western Digital have been better and have better return policies in case they do fail.

I said it was MDT.. They make alot of "economic" server solutions, unfortunatly a little too "economic" for me.. The drives start at like 15 bux for a 20 gig, however if they can't multitask, there is no use for them in the current industry.
I hate slamming manufactorers in my line of work, but this is a product I won't use again, I've NEVER had a drive last UNDER a year. I'd like to rip it open, and see what happened, because I'm sure it's hardware, the disks are probably all scratched up, heh.. or maybe the bearings are worn thin, at any rate, I want a new HD from this company, or at least a check in return.
What I'll probably end up with, is running around for the next 9 months, and then MAYBE a refurbished drive, when I can get a new 80 gig for 30 bux, so I might as well tear into it now, and blame myself later <G>
Thank you for the recommendation, I usually use Seagate (Which is WD..) or IBM drives, purely for the server warrenty. If you notice on your Maxtor (same as quantum) and WD drives, their 3 year warrenty is AWESOME, but is void if used on a server <G>
The sofware I run is commonly found on alot of true hosting servers, and would be immediatly discarded and I'd be sent a rejection letter, and a 1 lb hunk of tasty aluminum.
MDT (Magnetic Data Tech.) is a Maxtor product (to the best of my knowledge) and servers are not excluded from warrenty exchanges. Last time I lost a seagate drive, it was 1.8 gigs, and I had a new drive within a week.
It's been 5 days now, and I haven't even heard from MDT.. Talk about fantastic customer service. I know they don't deal with customers on saturday, so I have decided to give them till January 8th to respond, since they won't, I'll then wait a day, watch the Michael Jackson Arranment, then take a screwdriver, plasmatorch and sodering iron to the drive.
Anyone want a peice of art? (or trash?)
Thanks <G> (the venting felt great!)
