Banging tomorrow night (Saturday Oct4 at midnight central time) will be a game with the edits of The Lord of the Rings...

Thesse edits were brought to you by Vader...

I have never seen LOTR edits before so this is a first for everyone to come check out....

All new ships based on characters in the movies and new planets based on places in the movies.

1000 turns
10k sectors
no rob delay
no ship delay
come check out the edits and see if you have the skill to hang in a low turn based game with some really good edits.

This is the first run for these edits. We need some people to play through and see what changes need to be made. Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.

Well first off the Colonists don't seem to be regenerating, or maybe at a slow rate. There are only so many players in the game, yet Earth is now down to the last few colonists.

The planets seem to be hard to produce cargo on, maybe this was intended to make the game more challenging? So far The Shire seems to be the best planet type I can find. I once saw a post on EIS Forums that described the ship and planet types, but now I cannot find it. Isengard seems to produce a lot of Fuel Ore.

So far the Aragon seems like the best ship to trade and explore in. 2 turns per warp and 150 cargo holds, but limited to only 10K figs. I can easily PPT in it and make over 1.5Mcredits a day. The Sauramon looks like it is built for battle, and has 200 cargo holds, looks good to attack the Ringwraths with, 90K Figs, 1.5 odds.

Any reason why the T'Khasi Orion, Tholian Sentinel, Tauren Mule, and Interdictor Cruiser were left in the game? They don't seem as useful as the other ships. Also the ship description still say what the classic stock ships have. Like the Aragon says it is a Battleship, etc.

Why are you PPTing as blue?

You should be farming. If out of colonists, you should be gridding.

At the very least, Ptrading!

I was farming until the colonists ran out. They ran out quick.

Ptrading, all the planets seem to be able to produce are Fuel Ore. I haven't been able to create one that produces a ton of Org yet. I need Fuel Ore for the Quasar, and the Planetary Warp.

Gridding, I am doing that, but I don't have a script that can do it for me. I am kind of new to gridding. Looks like the Ringwraiths kill my figs in the grid anyway.

I had a major setback, I did a typo on a sector warp and Blind Transwarped my Sauarmon ship. I hit yes before noticing the message that there were no beaconing figs in the sector. So I am trying to get credits back to buy a new ship. Hence the all day PPTing session.

In short, I have had a run of bad days in the game. I really could use help in that game if you are offering.

Not offering, but I can pose a tip:

P trading isn't just colonizing a certian product, and selling it to a port.

It is also buying the port down, placing it on a planet, and warping the planet to another sector. Depending on the Ptrade percentage, this can/is a very profitable way for a blue to be able to make a substancial amount of cash, with fewer turns.

I know but I haven't gotten my planets to level 4 yet. So all I can do is sell to the local port until that happens. Early in the game I took a family vacation and missed out on 4 days, otherwise my planets would be level 4 already. Real Life issues interfering with game play. Also I missed out on 4 days of colonizing because of this. So I didn't get as many colonists as I'd like to have gotten.

I like Oceanic planets because they can make credits while I sleep, and once in a while sell off the Org to ports.

In MBBS mode, TW55 taught me how to Planet Trade and Mega-Rob as a Red. Requires upgrading ports, getting a level 4 planet or two, and after buying from a port Mega-Robbing it. Mega-Rob won't work in a Non-MBBS game like the current LoTR one.

But thanks for the tip, my planets should be level 4 soon. I can start a port buydown script from an updated port. Just need to save my credits to do this, so I may put off buying that new ship for a while. I think the planet trade is at 60%, I'll have to check it later.

This is a new edit game, so I am experimenting with different things to see how it works. Which is why I am doing crazy things like PPT a whole day to see the potential a ship can earn.

Reds should not Ptrade and mega rob.

The blues should do the Ptrading, and the reds should mega rob after the blue has bought down the port.

Well we were short-handed, just me and TW55 on the same corp nobody else. We were both red. Other people didn't join until later, but it looks like they formed their own corp and there was no room for me to get on it. Then later TW55 quit, and everyone else was Blue, and I was Red and couldn't join their corp. Plus nobody else on that Corp wants to play on the servers I am on, so I am Solo for a while until I can get some help.

Then don't play red. Easily solved.

I was learning to play red in that first game. The other game I was too far Red to turn Blue again unless I got murdered at the Stardock or CBYed.
