Post subject:  TWX Proxy 2.05+ Source & Build Environment
Does anyone know where I can find the SOURCE (source code) for TWX 2.05+ (whatever the most current version is)?

Piggybacking on that, what is the recommended build environment? I've seen EP's blog recommending Turbo Delphi Explorer on WinXP, but that seems a bit outdated. XE7 is stupidly overpriced, but I've also come across Lazarus IDE ( open source, delphi compatible ). The latter is what I plan to use, but I'd love to hear what others are doing (if applicable).

Thanks Micro, I was afraid that might be the case.

Does anyone know how I could get a hold of him? I don't think he's active on these forums, and I sent an email to his comcast.net account a few weeks ago but haven't heard back.

I know that he's made posts this year, but IMO that doesn't necessarily constitute being "active". Either way, we can agree to disagree on the semantics.

2.04 Source

Not 2.05 but should get you started/familiar while you wait for EP to respond. Given EP has exclusively supported 2.05 you may or may-not get the source for his additions regardless of GPL.

NP, don't read to much into the last part. I got that 2.04 from EP, it took some wrangleing cause he of his schedule. Not sure why I included that last part tbh.

I would have thought that T0yman has the 2.5 source, since he worked on it along with Xanos.

So, on a somewhat related note I've found a few TWX Proxy projects floating around. Figure I'd dump it here in case someone else comes searching.

For instance, this fork over at sourceforge :

Their versioning is a bit weird, in that the current release is 2.11, and the website refers to the project as "TWX Proxy Pro". The page hasn't been updated since 2005, so it's safe to say it's been abandoned. Do you know anything about this project?

Then there's this dude hosted over at the soon-to-be-closed google code :

This looks like the current 2.04 source - or at least, the source ZIP provided on the downloads page has the same checksum as the one you shared. I've honestly never used google code, so I don't know if they create that archive automatically whenever a change is pushed - but if not, then I guess the SVN source could be different from the one in the ZIP.

I kind of assume one of the two contributors is EP based on his other project hosted there (TWXide), but I can't really be sure. Either way, the last commit was made back in 2008... so this project is also solidly inactive :P

Only version of TWX I worked on was the release that Maniac had made available a long time ago. I think you mean MOMBot..... not TWX :wink:

I recall that version 2.11 on source forge.
One member that was working on it was
The Wabbit , he also made a compiler/recompiller
that would convert one version of .cts to another.

That was back in about 2005 and an argument
started over version numbers and the group broke up.

That is all I recall of that project.
