Has anyone ever noticed that it seems to sporadically lose track of the number of holds you have? I have seen my loaded mule only have 83 or 72 units during WTS...PT works correctly, however. |

deer_buster wrote: Anyone? Are you talking about the view on the left while your script is running? Yeah, I've seen that. I think the display is off, the the actual stuff being moved, etc is correct. Sometimes our scripts move too fast for the display to work correctly. And I don't think it's Swath, but just the fact that packets get dropped, the natural latency that is the internet connectivity. Once we all have fiber to the homes, that will improve I'll bet! They are building custom smart homes in my area now with fiber to the home. No more phone jacks! Everything over one little strand of glass. |

I've noticed this lately using rammars gridding scripts... Some reason it try's to drop a fighter at stardock which costs you fighters and holds... Watch when you're running your script and see if that is what's happening... |

Verify that TWX knows where SD is before starting, write a simple script to check echo STARDOCK Should reply correctly if not, then you have an issue. Most of the time I have seen this when people do not start a game with a clean database or they load the wrong one. |

Only time I ever lost holds due to a script was if I was playing red and ran wsst, then ran world trade or a planet negotiate, and busts had not cleared yet. If blue I got no idea since there is really no way if you have always been blue to lose holds. Maybe someone else will have some other insight. |

I'm not actually losing holds. It's just not buying the full amount every time. |

I have seen that happen using swath, and i would stop the script and push I so swath can see how many holds I acutally have, so just push I then start the script. Usually it happens when you stop a script and buy holds and start it again, for some reason unless you push I it is not registering that you bought more holds. |

That's not the case. It stops buying full amounts...for instance, I have 250 holds...I start with 250 holds, it buys/sells 250 worth of tradegoods...then after awhile, it stops buying 250 holds worth of goods, instead buying 72 at one port, selling 72 at another and buying 83 to sell at the previous one...all the while, having over 150 holds empty....stopping the script, hitting I, shows exactly what the display shows...72/83/whatever, with lots of empty holds...and we're not talking about empty ports either....90%+ ports in every instance I have checked. Sometimes if I wait long enough, it starts picking 250 holds worth of goods again....then some point later, it loses track again... |

Have you been logging it? It would be interesting to see exactly where it goes awry. |

Yes, I already sent it in to support@swath.net, last night, per their request. |

I do know that swath tries to preserve any fuel you might be carrying. which is why I dont use that script. Say you pick up 100 fuel and you dont jettision it before you start, it will hold that 100 fuel holds and only buy and sell the other 150, thats a problem if you are at an sxb bxs pair |

Sorry, not commenting specifically on the topic, but did want to clear up some misinformation. Telnet uses TCP, and isn't subject to dropped or lost packets. Connection speed will not break a properly written script. In this case, a more likely cause would be aborted displays. Not sure if SWATH's World Trade checks/sets CN9 settings or not, but try to first set the CN9 setting to SPACE (rather than ALL). Additionally, I believe you'll have better results using TWX's World Trade script. Regards, +EP+ |
