Seems there are to many versions of the MOMBot running around. I would like to compile a list of the known issues and I am going to do an upgrade to the bot. I have done a few personal ones over the past year but there is a need for more from what I am hearing. If you have a major issue that comes up please try and copy the text and save it for me. WIll help me to better understand what happen. Would also like to know what other scripts you were using / loaded and what terminal you are running through (swath/zoc) ect.

There are allot of private versions. I.e. functionality was added that the script owner prefered stay within corp and was given a fancy name like adding team functionality while supplimenting the coded needed to prevent certain exploits and bang (Mombot.vxyz-scripter name) is born. Neat to look at on comms when loaded I guess vs. just incrimenting the version number. I'm fairly sure Kraaken has there own version though VID and Parrot would be better to ask about that.

As to the most current Public version of your Bot get with Lonestar he has done a good job keeping up with the needed bug fixes. If you need any slave mules updating it and I can be of assistance let me know.

A couple minor things -
Logoff / Logout from various prompts would hang due to language change on JP's end. Just a minor change between 1.03 & 2.13
The "All" Command was being exploited if someone was using a subspace crawler and actually found it. (there was a another tied to this but I forget now)
Banner being displayed after 60 minutes of inactivity causes a dropped connection.
Seems to be an issue using certain names for the bot, we ran into during a test game using "m" as the bot name and it flat out would reject it. No idea on this but I know if we made it 3 characters it worked fine. Although I use a single letter for mine and it has always worked fine.

I know I have modded the crap out of mine and would probably not be willing to change but I am sure there are many out there that would appreciate the effort of cleaning it up. Thanks for the offer and if I can remember more of the minor issues I will pass them along.

Understand that T. My personal version has been through a lot of modifications as well. The All command is not needed as you can use the callin command to set your team. I know about the banner issue. Did not know about the single letter (possible) issue. There is also an issue where starting the bot may cause a person to fly into next sector (reported today by Cruncher/Epicenter) Do not have details on this but this is the first I have heard about it. I will be adding in functionality to change the bot activation key. I know it was modded to the - key, but I prefer the > key still.

I figure there are some issues with the wording on the new version. Just need to find the exact and make sure it will work for all versions.

T0yman I went through your mods of the bot. Understood most of what you did. Seems most of it revolved around the all command. Saw the changes on the logout as well, looks like you removed the turn off of relog. Most of the other stuff was just small changes. I am curious as to why in the page command you you changed the replacetext with striptext. I didn't really see the benefit in that.

When 1.032 came out it had lot's of minor issues so the version I modded my not have been modded 100% by me. In the last year any changes are all mine, but before that I can't tell you who might have made changes. I know at one time Helix put a version out with a few changes, I may have took his and merged mine then added more. That does not sound like something I ever changed.
I did replace the page.cts cause I found the other extremely annoying. Paging someone with no way to terminate the script was a design flaw that has resulted in some bad outcomes ;)

Any other minor/major fixes to look at?

There is one major issue that causes the Bot to eat RAM and eventually lockup TWX. There are quite a fewl GoSub's without the appropriate 'Return' statement. The code instead uses GOTO in certain places. I seem to remember Singularity pointing this out to me back when I was actually working on the Bot. It wasn't difficult to fix, but there was a complication I can't remember atm.

Lone

[EDIT]
Pulled up the Bot file and took a look. For example:

Some routines GOSUB :checkStartingPrompt, if the starting prompt is valid it RETURNS, otherwise it executes: GOTO :wait_for_command
The :checkStartingPrompt routine should RETURN regardless of its results. The caller routine should then deal with the result accordingly.

N.B. the Code related to this example can be found in the first few lines of the MOMBot (_mom_bot3_1032.ts).
[/EDIT]

Thanks lone. I will take a look at that. So far I have fixed the twarp issue that was not recognizing the prompt, fixed the tow issue when there was not a ship in the sector, added a drop/join corp command, and also adjusted some of the code that had been added since the last official release.

There also seems to be an issue where holo-kill is locking up twx. Still trying to pinpoint this issue.

Working on the SDT script that crashes if you bust on the first port you try to steal from. Umm, I think that is all that I am working on at the moment. Thank you for those of you pointing things out.

HVS Tradewars

dont bother with Mom she don't work.

Would love to see you play the new rebang of the old HVS Trade Wars. Leave mom at home and see what you can do.
Some TWGS v2 games for Mom you can try.... game D
See if you can beat up on the user "Bean" in TWGSv2 "game D" :D he's looking for a challenge and someone to help him capture one of the 3-5 alien homeworlds. No offence intended Bean.

Seeing as your a handle is an alias of my ancient tw player name of mine
"Bounty Hunter", you should stop by and have some fun!

Seems like a fair challenge for all ..
Game deletion time is 255 days , game is greatter then 260 day , dailies show massive haz in sectors in fed and most players are > 100k exp.

Am I the only one here who thinks a challenge issued on a game running over 100 days is down right .. well you know.

But as for needing some help taken a few alien planets .. if he needs a corpie to show him how I did it last time I was told on your server they were impossible to take .. I'm game to join him and do it again.

But I'm not interested in playing otherwise.
Thanks and have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
