Note that the ck haggle tracker and the ck nego have been edited to write a sector parameter (MCIC) for the bot to read when the MCIC command is issued.. |

I was reading through the changelog and I really think the "hook" command is really clever. Making a distinct tow command for unmanned and manned ships is a good idea. MD |

Most of us have had a tow module for years.. Syntax of mine: tow player:name to:#### tow ship:## to:#### Shortcuts p and s, and where neither, 1st parm defaults to ship if number and name if not a number. 2nd parm defaults to sector number if it's a number (and no to:), or gives help message and error if not a number. If player name or ship number are omitted, defaults to first player or ship in sector. |

Actually I wrote a tow module as well, but I just like the idea of hook/tow as separating manned/unmanned operations. It just makes the calling of the command even more simple. I think there is an argument for just a tow command that is smart enough to do both, but I think separating it is a valid way to handle it. Maybe I just like the terminology, "hook". Edit: I just went back to the old source, and it looks like the tow command/module only handles unmanned ships. Hopefully everyone has moved onto yours now. Are all modules zbot/mombot/krakenbot/whateversingisusingbot all compatible with each other? That would be nice, and simple enough I would think. MD |

probably not completely... but i am working towards that end as i come across incompatiblities.. I am trying to make the ZedPack all you need... but that is a tall order of course.. and i am the only one coding it.. we have the built in menu system for handling the standalone scripts.. and the options file allows for adding bot commands and replacing those that are internal.. |

Install the zedpack and then replace the appropriate cts files with the loose ones in channel. The teamspeak server is at 220.244.125.70:9987 I will make a post when the official release is ready with the link to where it will be. |

While I don't use the z bot myself I have pulled a few ideas from your bot that I am incorporating into the M()M bot. All of it I had in stand alone scripts but when I go through the re-write I will incorporate them. I tried to set it up so that I could run both bots at the same time. I changed the bot names and the hot keys but was not able to do it. My main problem came up when trying to move sectors. Every time I hit the 0 button the move menu came up. Is your bot meant to use the bot/helper do run everything through it? |

the bot is meant to run everything from it.. you can add bot commands via the cfg file. You can add standalone commands to the double tap menu via the .mnu files. It should run fine with mombot for memory (tho its been a while since i wrote it and my memory isnt the best). Make sure the bots have a different bot name. If the hotkeys are getting in your way you can change them via the cfg file. They default to SHIFT-letter for most things... i have changed them for my own setup to CTRL-letter.. tho this requires changes to swath if you are using it. |

I will say that your overall bot is nice and has a lot of great features. I am sure you will disagree because you have been using it and it applies to your style of game play but is not very user friendly (Even for an advanced user). The full configuration is nice, but there are to many conflicts. I understand why a little better now that you say everything is meant to be run through it. For the casual user this can work, for the advanced users and power users this will cause some issues with fingers normally gravitating to type out commands and with F-Key macros that could get in the way. I definitely would like to find a way to make this work at the same time with the mombot. As it could add an extra layer of info. Would be nice if there was a way to configure which functions to use, say to turn off the move helper, ect... Your set up was how I originally programmed my Evil bot back in 2002. Although your bot has much more functionality than mine did. Keep up the work though. The more options out there the better. The fig-Mon as a separate script is outstanding. The Parameter editor is also a very nice feature. Do you have something listed for each script you accompany with the bot that shows the parameters passed in/out? I ask because I would like to make sure that future versions of M()M Bot are able to use these scripts. |

| Post subject: | Re: Zed-Pack update including Z-Bot 1.29 Released |
funny enough i have been trying to make z-bot compatible with the mombot scripts lol.. some of them work but i have added scripts to the pack that replace the main ones i was using.. check out the planet driver.. i use that instead of patp.. there is a lot of help built into the bot.. and readme files for most of the scripts.. The bot was built around the movement system... that started out as a charger and was the first thing i put into the bot... i have since expanded it to include mowing and twarping.. with options to dock or kill etc when u reach the destination.. thats my favourite part of the bot. You can make the bot DORMANT with the CTRL-Z hotkey.. and wake it up again with CTRL-Z.. the SHIFT-K or CTRL-K (depending on your settings) shows you what the hotkeys are.. and >HELP LIST will list all the internal commands.. the internal commands have help available for them... type >COMMAND HELP (replace COMMAND with the command name). most of the external (script pack) scripts have COMMAND HELP as well (or COMMAND ? will do) about the parameters... there is no list... but anything the scripts require is in its help. you can ask me any questions you need.. best to find me on my teamspeak channel as i would rather talk than type.. |
