Except for a few ppl around me, I dont seem to get much feedback on this project. I have found some pretty big bugs (now fixed) that nobody has mentioned to me..
So i am wondering if anybody from the wider community is actually using the Z-bot in particular.. and any suggestions you might have for improving it...

Do you track downloads at least? That might give you some indication of use.

The forum software tracks redirects... but the numbers are small.. and they include downloads of the updates..

Im curious because in my opinion (biased of course) its as good as the others, yet it seems its not really getting looked at.. which is a shame because the few that i know do use it have never looked back..

MoM has been around a lot longer and people use what they are comfortable with. If I come in here and ask a question about MoM I can have an answer pretty quick, support is much wider if someone runs into a problem.

Plus I don't want to create a login to download another bot that odds are will never get used.

Plus:
I have tried a few other bots and just never liked the interface (ST-Bot and K-Bot and a couple others) so I sick with what I know and will use.

EDIT: That's been corrected good, the last time I checked I had to log in. My apologies Archy.

It didn't require a login to download the file. (Thanks Arch) Testing it now.

The setup is much harder than mom. Plus the disconnecting while answering the set up questions reset the config menu. (Suggestion, read the name, the password and the game letter from twx) Also trying to set my ship name to . (period) would reset the ship name to 0 (zero)

1. Need a red bust for exp command. (had to load mom for this)

More to come...

Haven't used it, but does Z-bot support mombot modules? Really that's where bots have to be these days. We've reached a point where all bots have to support a similar module structure so that a script can easily go from one bot to the next.

Given what Singularity said, I think the key area for improvement is on ease of use. The tool that seems most comfortable to new users and can help them get over the considerable hump to make use of these powerful tools will be the one that rises to the top, I think, over the long term. The tools are all powerful, no doubt. The biggest issue is accessibility. The ideal situation would be where any potential player could grab one of these tools and begin to use it in-game, and not feel so daunted by it that they give up.

Of course, the ultimate solution to that issue would be to support such scripts directly in-game. But tool developers can go a long way toward making a reality the universal adoption of a common set of scripts, so that every player is on a level playing field, and then they can decide on a game-by-game basis what scripts to use and what scripts are off-limits.

The info filled in there is about ship name and planet name.. corp name etc... not player name and password.. which are gleaned from the twx database as necessary. The info supplied here is used to answer the questions for future logins.. This information can be edited in the z-globals.cfg file in the twx root at any time... There is an example of this file in its entirety in the installation notes.txt file in the zedpack.zip

The bustup command takes care of busting up red.. use it from the stardock prompt and pass it the target experience level. eg: >bustup 8000

You can use >help list to get a list of all internal commands.

Ill take a look at the ship name and the dot problem..

Some Mom bot commands are working, others have been edited to work and included in the pack.. yet others replaced by my own scripts.
Im sure there are more to be worked on so no its not mombot compatible..
I have been dealing with that as the need arises..

I will look for ways of simplifying the install.. i'm sure i can come up with something. In the meantime the installation notes are included to soften the blow..

thanks for the response :)

Bustup is on the >help list screen and on the >help cash screen.

I will need more info for wsst as it is working fine here and with my corpies..
Make sure you are using the login script as it may be setting up certain info for wsst.. not sure atm... have to look at the code..
