Abort display on the player you are attacking? If you'd rather reply PM I'd appreciate it. Thank you |

As long as you have your CN9 settings (in computer where you set subspace radio channel?) set to SPACE, a simple space will abort the next display. Very difficult to do just typing, this action is really made for macros. To add to your question, I'm curious why Remco always used the ALL KEYS setting of the CN9 to abort displays. If you look at the scripts that come with TWX you'll find he always sets CN9 to ALL KEYS, sends his macro, then returns it to SPACE. Anyone? Edit: After a reread, and in perspective of other threads/conversations, it is occurring to me that your question refers to aborting the display of your opponent, during an attack. Sorry. I've had 'You've been killed' messages aborted, but only because I had my own stuff going at the time. Are you sure that isn't happening? |

Why send a space when the next key will abort it anyway? Yes, it will hose other scripts up that are looking for specific text. |

I'm just trying to learn if this is intentional on the part of the person attacking or a glitch in the game when attacks move so quickly. I'm not seeing xxxx entered your sector, xxxx is powering up weapons, xxxx attacked you.... If I enter a sector that triggers an attack either, poof in a pod 20 hops away! I've got to get a screen cap of this again, but I'm certain I'm missing seeing some displays. I don't have any of my messages aborted normally or if I do I'll just turn fed com off if someone is spamming. |

Try this on a non-beta and see if it happens. It could be something beta-related. |

If you are using SWATH as your helper, you might try it with ZOC to see if it is a helper display issue. I've had nothing but issues with ZOC since I moved from 1.8.3 to allow for 30k games. Most recent being complete freezing of SWATH (100% CPU) which requires me to kill it with taskmanager. Something is conflicting, but I don't know what. |

I've seen so many new things since coming back, it just occured to me that there might be a way for the attacker to script or macro in such a way that the person they are attacking has their displays aborted somehow by the way they are being attacked? Just a crazy idea. |

I shouldn't be in the forums while at work - to much distraction. People actually expect me to give them my attention when I take a break. |

Yes , Prom ment Swath .. he has not gotten 1.9.7 yet , so he is still having bug issues due to the remaining bugs in those versions. I am on the beta server as well , and my flee is off , but when aliens attack and over power me .. my ship flees. This is something new the beta. But yes .. a few of the in game messages have changed or been removed. I see it in MD's planet stripper .. it does not terminate when your planet is full because it does not see/get the messages. |

Actually I am running 1.9.7 and that is when the 100% cpu issue started. Thinking something about the way this laptop is setup is clashing. |

sometimes the speed of your cpu will allow text to come in so fast swath chokes a bit .. under Swath preferences / Misc. click and set the high speed text limit to 800 the display might seem to chug when you run ch buydown (speed) but you can see that swath trader info is still moving by those values rocking fast. This might help cpu issues some. |

Thanks Vid, I will give that a shot. It has frozen several times just from my script menu starting up. I am using ANSI a lot on that particular menu. |
