 Leapfrog your planets
I have been mulling this over for about 2 yrs... if i were a coder, it would have become reality by now.
Does this have merit?
Leapfrog Planet Defence:
- 2 lv5 or 6 in a long narrow tunnel, corpie on each planet - the corpies have large shielded ships in the citadel - the planets are in the same sector (gate or ?) and they are all gased up and ready for a fight.
here is the idea:
- enemy attacks shields on planet A... that planet pwarps one sector deeper into the tunnel, directly behind the original sector. - enemy destoys shields on Planet A and quasar blast pods him. - enemy pod flees to last sector recorded or a safe route, straight into the path of Planet B, either way - planet B quasar sector blast kills pod - corpie replaces shields and moves Planet A back into positon (gate or ?) - or planets are left in staggered deployment, waiting for the attack on Planet B. (typically when first sector lost to enemy figs) - when planet B is attacked it leapfrogs over planet A and it all happens over again.
the result: only one attack per enemy and they are SD'd
Of course the smart players take the shields down to sub 200 (got to guess that... right?), backs off and ptorps in.
Just another idea from the stinging mind of... ---> cc bee

 Re: Leapfrog your planets
i suppose you could be in open space ( a 6 way for example) and leapfrog planets as well. Anywhere you have your figs backing you. Perhaps in a tough situation the leapfroging technique could be combined with twarp gridding script to force the move.

 Re: Leapfrog your planets
2 posts accidentally in "ride the shields", read them to follow correct order of posts. one from myself and the other from parrothead.
So, Parrot... what you saying is: - enemy attacks shields - planet falls back one sector and corpie pulls shields - enemy suddenly at fig prompt, BUT, no cannon fires! - enemy continues attack, But, on planetary figs - or, enemy safely retreats from sector and preps an adjacent ptorp attack
Would the enemy be under the sector fig when he falls from planet prompt? or is that how you got ptorp'd... you retreated off the planet prompt and hit the sector fig ---> ptorp'd

 Re: Leapfrog your planets
He only ends up at figprompt if he refreshes the prompt but yes at fig prompt with Military reaction set at 100% he will be podded by figs attack if math works out.
