I was thinking of doing a script which would find someone probing from a remote location by setting internal voids on my own grid and using get all courses.

Anyone do this already?

Yeh, but it's not really as accurate as you'd think. Basically use
a BFS, set all of your own figs as already visited, and run a
warps-in BFS on the probe hit. Grid out by distance.

However early on, while grid sucks, it's hit-or-miss. Later on,
most people don't probe because grid is closed up. So, it has
limited value as a script concept.

Seems multiple hits would go a long way to eliminating bubbles. I have found several enemy bases over the years from a little intuition and a few probe hits

Well if a person is probing from their base... lol.

Didn't know people did that. If I remote probe it's usually
just from some random DE.

I was asking about any work anyone has done on a script of this type.

If you think it is a good idea, go for it. Worst thing that will happen is you might waste some time writing it, but it sounds interesting just from a scripting standpoint. I've never seen any snippets that have done this that I remember.

I've been working on a haggle routine even though I know EP's script has it down cold. Main reason for writing it is the challenge of beating 99.7x that I get on average (based on 6,000+ haggles and p-Probe). Sometime you just have to give a script a shot and see what happens.

Yeah, I typically choose and write scripts to solve a logic problem or for the challenge. So yes, there is merit in tackling the logic problem of locating a prober based on grid and hits.

Promie, I encourage you to write a haggle routine. It's a challenge, plus that is the only way you'll really appreciate what I've done.

I already appreciate what you have done on the haggle because of what I've ran into. I have worked on my haggle routine off and on for a while and getting it to where it is at now has been interesting. It isn't too difficult to consistantly hit in the 99 - 99.5 range, but from there to 100 seems to be a whole new game. I could almost be satisfied at 99.7x , but it is kinda like getting every MS of speed out of a script - if it is possible, then I want to hit it.
