Need help setting up TWX in SWATH
Can someone help me setting this up? I know I'm just missing something simple, but I'm overlooking it. I have TWX running and it is in my system tray, I input the info for the game I am connecting to, but I'm not sure if that is what I was supposed to do or not, in the setup over port 23.
I go to SWATH and see that I was able to load the TWX scripts, but don't know anything else to do with it. I tried the scripts and they execute, but don't work the way they are supposed to.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: Need help setting up TWX in SWATH
IN THE TWX SETUP * on the server tab set the address and the port of the server you want to connect to. (usually 23 or 2002) * on the program tab set the port for twx to listen to swath. a high number is best (perhaps 2023)
IN SWATH * in game options on the general tab set the hostname/ip to the ip address of the server you are connecting to. * in game options on the general tab set the port to the server you are connecting to. (usually 23 or 2002) * in game options on the general tab set the game proxy hostname/ip to localhost, or 127.0.0.1 * in game options on the general tab set the game proxy port to the port you set TWX to listen to. (perhaps 2023) * in the view menu at the top of the screen - ensure proxy mode is on. * also in the view menu - ensure helper mode is off * again in the view menu - ensure parse incoming text is on.
that should get swath and twx talking to each other.

that should get swath and twx talking to each other. Must be a different version of SWATH than I use. I've never set proxy mode, or parse incoming text. Helper mode is on most of the time. [Edit]Just found parsing of text and it is on evidently. I didn't have to set it. Proxy mode is off.

Re: Need help setting up TWX in SWATH
I hate to sound stupid, but the server that I want to set TWX to is the game server that I'm playing on? Or should it be like my local machine or something?
Thanks!

Guessing it has been on forever then because I've never had to do anything except enter the game/twx data and go. Someday I might have to explore SWATH, but I seem to do ok with the out-of-the box settings. I'm still running 1.8.3 though since the 1.9x version seemed to cause problems. I don't remember what they were now.

Thanks! there are 2 pages in the twx settings of interest.. the first one.. the SERVER settings .. is where you put the server address that you want to connect to.. the second one.. the PROGRAM settings .. is where you put the localhost.. thats where you set TWX to listen for swath..

Re: Need help setting up TWX in SWATH
Thanks for all of your help guys. So far I am able to get to where when I try to log on using SWATH it says that I am connected to the local host, but every time I try to log in, it says that I have the wrong password. I checked it and double checked it and the password is correct. Should I not use the login script for TWX?
Thanks!

Thanks! try turning the login script part off in TWX. When you reach the "Press $ to activate terminal menu" prompt press the $ and then C to connect.. You will be asked for your name.. enter it and then follow the prompts.. it will ask for your password inside the game where you can type it in manually..

Re: Need help setting up TWX in SWATH
I ended up getting it to work, although some of the scripts don't seem to work very well! They seem to end without cause.
Thank you all for your help!

Re: Need help setting up TWX in SWATH
thats probably from selecting the scripts from the menu- try typing them in manually ($, s, s, then the scriptname from the prompt). i think the fix is being worked on now
