 Mombot colo script
1) Is the timed mode that bounces back and forth every 15 seconds a joke of some sort? 2)Is the Milker that picks up 1 colo at a time some kind of Trick to run peeps out of turns?

 Re: Mombot colo script
Well, in theory there should be a way to adjust those details. Not sure about those particular scripts, tho.

 Re: Mombot colo script
I have seen the timed one used and it can be adjusted, the milking one in the current pack I could never get to work correctly. I went back and got one out of an older M()M release and never had a problem with it after that. The version I use is attached. Attachment:

Thx I'll point my mombot using corpies to it. Someone needs to fix this and repost on grimy's. Trying to teach new peeps with scripts that don't work is not fun.

In the time it took you to post your "constructive" critique about a script that is Public and well over 10k lines long you could have just fixed the issue or bypassed it completely for your corpies.

If the tmilker and timed colo script are 10k lines long then there is a problem. The issue is with new players not my corpies who generally use Team Kraaken scripts. Stick with the issue or take your comments to smack please. This forum is for SCRIPT issues ONLY! If the script doesn't work then pull it from the package.

 Re: Mombot colo script
Pulling it from the package will be hard given the lack of support at this time with LS on vacation. I don't see why you just don't fix it with your ability as a scripter you'd think it would come easy? As to the smack comment I do not see where you picked up sarcasm at least no worse than your OP. Fact remains is M()M is still the best public bot script even with it's many flaws, the same flaws that allow scripters to overcome that bot and tear up the people using it.
Instead of taking it down I still think just fixing it as needed and maybe posting the fix here in the scripting forum for everyone to impliment into thier version would be easier. Momcolo/Tmilker is a known issue and is something most of the players I have played with suppliment with other colo scripts.

 Re: Mombot colo script
It's "the best public bot" because it's the only public bot released in the last few years.
But fortunately it's open source. So you can just as easily fork it and do whatever you want.

I assumed that someone has already come up with a fix. As I understand now the colo script was modded for use in Ulim/Truce games and released in the newer packs that way. And the Older colo script may even work. The timed script is a j/k. (colo regen per day / 86400) = colo's per second is not tough scripting. I will tell you a secret Kaus. Most of MOMbot is other peeps scripts (without credits) repackaged with the new (authors) name on it. Lonestars fine work excluded. And as pretty much everyone has a copy of Sing's Tmilker for STBOT the least they could do is put in a plagiarized version that works. So the reason I don't fix it and repost it is that is not my work...not the colo script anyway. I only post or give away My original scripts unless modded by me and PLAINLY CREDITED to the original author. Ripping CK's or SupG's or Rin's or Oz's name from a script and adding M()M to it does not make it new.

A bit of a tangent there, which unfortunatly confirm's my assumption of why you posted your complaint about the script in the first place. Best of luck and see you in game. -Kaus

 Re: Mombot colo script
I posted the complaint because as stated up front the milk script picks up 1 colo at a time and runs you out of turns in minutes.
So from your defensive reaction Kaus I assume you are now in charge of the Mom scripts.
Please fix it. Thanking you in advance.

I don't understand why a timed script would be used for sniping colos. It costs no turns to land and look, or has this been banned because of annoyance to other players?

 Re: Mombot colo script
The only place I know of that has banned the use of a milking script is Toyland and only cuz I find it annoying as a player, so I opted to remove it as an option. I have no problem with timed since you are not sitting there like a prairie dog popping up and down for hours on end.

 Re: Mombot colo script
The mom colo timed script leaves the player to figure out the timing for himself instead of doing the math for a full load. I understand that the M()M team were heavy unlim players and were not tuned in to saving turns at all cost but the math is easy for a simple timed script with no adjustment.
milliseconds to wait ((Total Ship holds - gas to return) * (colo regen rate / 86400))
setdelaytrigger wait :wait milliseconds to wait
:wait go get colo's
see not hard at all

 Re: Mombot colo script
Picking up a full load makes sense in a turns game. The milker was meant for Unlimited games I am sure. (where you want to deny even 1 colo to the other team) That's why it picks up one colo at a time if it is available. I tested it in an unlimited game and it does need the timing corrected since it would land when there were 0 colos on terra, I would have preferred if it calculated the 86400/65530 = ~1.32 seconds to make 1 colo in games where the colo regen is 65530/day.
I will look into the colo script and see if we can get the math inserted and add a bot setting for turns and unlimited both (or create a coloT and a coloU)
milk for turns = calculate the time to full holds milk for unlims = calculate the time to create 1 colo
Does that seem reasonable?
