In the last few days I have been having Swath crash as a sub-space message comes in. An error pop-up comes up asking if I want to send report to microsoft. I was told by a fellow player that he too was experiencing this same thing. I could not figure what we had in common because I use XP and he was using Win 2000. I got a brain storm .. I think I know what it might be .. I figured it had to be a winsock error most likely . So I went to http://majorgeeks.com/WinSock_XP_Fix_d4372.html for a repair & so far so good ... I'll do a follow-up tomorrow and let you know it was fixed or not. my fingers are crossed in hopes this IS the fix needed. |

I've reverted back to SWATH 1.8.3 after using the latest version of SWATH and having issues. I haven't had problems since going back. The main problem I ran into was the screen appearing to freeze. |

to Prom and anyone else ; Stein has asked if you have crash issues with swath (any version but prefers current) that if it crashes , look in same directory as your game_name.cfg for a game_name.log zip that file and send it to him @ stein@swath.net That way any errors can be fixed. I've just talked with Stein .. he said any logs from the "buffer full" error , after it crashes to please send him so this may be taken care of for the next release. All help would be appreciated. Vid Maybe the Swath team should try a beta release to fix some of the problems. Testers are more willing to help out and report bugs when they get a free program out of it. |
