I have tried mombot's pdrop (direct mode), parrot's pdrop in direct mode, dny quickpdrop but doesn't have a setting for direct so you use up all your gas running adjacent.

I have a 175 ping, generally rock solid to the server I am playing on. My partner has a solid 125ms ping and we still are getting no where (the advantage is no one can hit us while we are running it either).

Any advice for script strategies would be welcome. I am so lost, but I was thinking about a plock pdrop but it would have to be lighting fast and catch them while they were droppimg mines

Unless there is an insane difference between pings or they are gridding by hand, a direct drop will never get the gridder. An anticipation plock could work if the gridder is gridding in a straight line, surrounding a sector, or other forms of gridding where you could possibly anticipate where they might hit next. The reason is because there is a slight delay between the time they hit a fig and the time you receive the message.

Thats why I thought a plock drop might work, since they have a tendency to drop 3 limps and 3 mines in the hit sector. That takes time.

There's a pattern, so yes plock is the easiest answer. But they can adjust it by not laying anything on the first hit, then coming in later to avoid plock. It's possible to make your macro small enough to avoid all but the shortest CPCs.

Most versions of ugrid don't restart after photon, so you can try torping them. Some versions also don't react to a trader in the sector, so you could try sitting there w/ a ship that has an IG and gbonus. Pop a torp when they enter and callsaveme in a burst, you might get them if they're slow. Some settings can avoid a trader but will not avoid an empty ship, so an xport-ig-burst macro would do the same thing.

There's also some fun w/ planets. Ugrid can be configured to trigger only on shielded planets, meaning unshielded planets can still blow them up. If they're triggering on any planet, then you simply run a cluster search and grid them down to a choke point and drop some planets there.

Depending on the settings, sometimes they'll come into the jump point before deciding not to move on. If you're fast, you can hit them then if they're running in that mode. So look for patterns on unfigged limpet hits. There's also an armid trick where you can disrupt, photon in, macro an armid drop and a retreat, then trigger an adj photon on the armid. Depending on when they update their list, they might be running on an old sectorparm and you could potentially torp, then go in, exit-enter-dropfig-callsaveme and kill.

There's also an old lurker trick, where you catch ppl running on a ship-based limpet clear mode. Basically you plock, drop and sit for their return... either to catch them clearing, or if they've already cleared it, for them to use the sector as a JP. That's fixable, but most ship-based gridders don't have a fix for it. I will occasionally put 0 limpet (and armid) sectors in a few spots and plock them hoping they'll use it later on as a JP after they update their limpet list, that works pretty well.

But overall, all unlim gridders rely on a large area to operate. The best technique is area of denial, as their grid gets smaller the potential targets they can hit will also decrease. Smart data mining can find the sectors most likely to yield a smaller enemy grid, and targeting them can increase your gridding efficiency. Once you hit those sectors, make sure you clear out the enemy's stuff quickly and drop as much as you can afford per sector.

My private gridder can operate in a team mode, alongside a planet-based clear script. Consider ways to increase your team's efficiency on the grid, as that'll provide an edge in speed. Gridding smarter (and faster) than your enemy is the most efficient way to both win the game and prevent future grid raids.
