Hi,

Can somebody let me in on how the Furb mode of Mombot works? I've been trying to execute the script, but it always seems to say "you need to run at the command prompt at Stardock".

I've tried to run it from the following places:

1) Command prompt at Stardock
2) Ported at Stardock
3) Stardock Main Menu
4) Non-Stardock sector

I've met with an error message at each spot. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Certain MOM scripts get these errors. Try starting it several times ...use selfbot not subspace call or have a corpie bot u to furb.

One of the biggest problems with the bot is the modules. I really focused more on the internal bot code and so a lot of fixes for modules I didn't use often went unnoticed.

Lonestar does not have that problem, and that is one of the many reasons I am very glad he is putting out the updates now. I know for a fact that the furb module is one he is working on, and I am sure when the next version comes out you will find a lot fewer problems with all of them.

Not to mention all the other good ideas I am sure he is having.

I was running this on a local copy of TWGS. It looks that I have something set that doesn't require you to hit enter. For example in a 5k sector universe, if I type 4001 as a sector, it pops up the warp lane right away.

I'm not sure if this is contributing to my problem or not, but regardless, do either of you know how to shut that off?

I tried it on a live server and I no longer get the message, but it doesn't furb either.

IIRC, you may be experiencing the auto complete that happens in 5k and under games. I may be completely wrong on this as I haven't been in a 5k sector game in a very long time, and I don't use M()M. This is the TWGS that causes the auto complete.

TWGS does the auto complete...in order to solve this..instead of

send $NextSector & "*"
try
send "m " & $NextSector & "*" in the code.



Furb 10 .....u cant get there from here......read help file again.

I'm not sure what you mean by "in the code". I did a GREP on the TWGS directory and got no hits. Is there a menu someplace that contains that?

As a sidenote, I do not have the gold addon.

Here's the help file:

- furb [ship number] {extra holds} {ship letter}
- [ship number] = ship number that needs the furb
- [extra holds] = extra holds to buy - default is 33
- [ship letter] = ship letter to purchase - default is H

furb 10 seems like it would conform to this syntax. 10 being the ship number and taking the optional defaults for the rest.

I have sent out some test copy's to a few people.. have recieved great feedback on several things. For example: I've worked in a auto cn9 check into the STATUS cmd.. and a few other tweaks here and there..

regarding the FURB. I am in the process of rewriting it. I'll post the next mombot once I get the furb written --hopefully done tonight. heh

Okay. I managed to get the new Furb thing fnished, all I need to do is test it out. Here's how it works:
Code:
FURB <shipnumber> {extra holds} {ship number}

..this will deleiver a furb and then the script will halt


Code:
FURB ck {[norm hold] [fake hold] [norm letter] [fake letter]}

..this is essentially the MOMBot acting like ck's FURB script.

One noteable difference in this new Furb 'command/mode' is it will decash automatically everything above 500,000.. and replenish figs when below 100 (and repurchase at dock).

The default values for Extra Holds/Furb Ship are:
Normal Bust Holds 33
Normal Bust ShipLetter h
Faked Holds 97
Faked ShipLetter o
