Howdy,
I am planning on releasing the final version of the public bot. I am going through and cleaning up all the bugs I know of and any small issues I have wanted to fix. I am also clearing up any instance of redundant code I can find and consolidating. The bot actually has gone from 18,500 lines of code to just 13,000 over the last couple days. My goal is to get it under 10k.
Anyway... I wanted to give the opportunity for anyone who uses the bot to bring up any requests they have before I put out the final version.
If you are going to make a request please follow these two guidelines:
1)Please be specific and clear
2)Please do not ask for a feature that should actually be a module for the bot. These kinds of things can be added by any scripter at any time in the future.
Here are some things I have already added:
Code: >Self Command Prompt history now saves between bot runs
>QSET works now from planet prompt
>Increased delay before attempting to connect to hopefully correct the problem with stalling out a server.
>Bot will now recognize if it is online, but not in the game and will relog as appropriate
>Bot will echo time stamp and size of fighter grid every half hour on the hour if you are afk.
So, feel free to ask away. I will do my best to implement any ideas that make sense and should be in the bot.

How about a Mega-Corp Feature... since we all love to do it, but never admit it.. would be kewl if someone from another corp could have some basic bot control(s)
Or, on a more practical note... an ability to log into a bot for those times we accidently get SD'd and need to create a 'chat-dupe' so we can heckle-smack other corp(s), while Bot'n our corpies to safety .
Oh, and a nice shamless ANSI graphic splash every time the bot starts.

How about makeing it refig when useing tab z to clear limps and mines from sector. Because if there is enuff nav haz in the sector it will kill you befor you can clear 250 limpits. If not no biggie because i know not to do it now if there is alot of nav haz in the sector.
Oh yeah one more thing. When you turn bot off with the the (>bot off) comand the bot don't always turn off. Dono why but it happened a few times in a timed game when i went to turn the bot off so i could log out of game and it reloged me right away.

Actually I did fix that. I will upload the fix to grimy. It's a weird twx bug or something. When it sees the degrading message and you send y and a subspace message all in one string, it just triggers some kind of weird error in twx. I made the subspace message come later, and that fixed it for whatever reason.

Could you put in something that will automatically build me several impregnable bases, while at the same time finding, invading, and capturing everyone else's bases? That would be really helpful...

Is there already a way to reset a corpies bot?? For example, corpie was using the move command to move fuel.. another corpie move a planet he was using.. When locked up corpie came back to keys he said he was sending a ton of corp messages..stalled.
Maybe there is already a way to do this.. but I cant read very well.

You should be able to use the "reset" command to do this. It will relog the bot and start it fresh. You can also try "emq" to reset the prompt or "emx" which does almost the same thing as "reset".

This would have to be a change made to the reloader module. I definitely might make that change, since it would nice to have it lift off a planet after the bot lands it, or somehow keep it from landing at all. I want to get the final bot out first though.

I'm sure it's something I'm doing wrong, but would love the relog to work for me. I've had trouble in several games where relog won't log me in. I have to shut down the bot, relog, then restart the bot. Could use some clarification of how to set up the features so it will log in.
Also if it's at all possible, have it resume scripts it was running when connection was lost. or a way to custome configure it to run scripts at login.

Am I the only one who refuses to use it because it seems like cheating?
I was going to write one a few years ago and after confering with a few big players, we all decided it was a kind of cheating. If the player is not at keys, you should not be able to move them with a remote control.
I am not trying to make everyone not use it. But I will not be on a corp that does.
Just some food for thought.
