I would like to see a compiled list of the essential public scripts for the new/returning players.

To start:

CK's public script pack (combat also)

ProZTM (mapping script)

Vid's Universal_figs (fighter list builder)

dny_dock_kit.ts (Dnyarri's Dock Survival Tool Kit)

ST-BOT or M()M-BOT (Bot Scripts)

ProCannonDamage (Calculate damage from cannon hits)

A lawnmower... One of these days I'll release mine. There are several scripts on my site I'd highly recommend, pgridder, ptorp, etc.

Not only do we need a list of these scripts, we also need a list of what they do so that noobs can figure all this out.  When that list is finished, and files collected, I'd suggest we zip them all into one file available for download.

Well problem w/ the "zip them all into one" is going to be...
1: author permission
2: script versions

Prolly just easier to put them all on a site somewhere.

You can go to dock red... granted you have to be careful, but you can do it and be safe.

If the authors have given them to public access, what's the harm in zipping them into one file combined with other scripts and calling it a starter package.  I'm not changing the scripts, just including them in another public zip file.

Maintaining current versions and bug fixes is the point Sing was making RP. A list of download links might be the way to go. And the descriptions were an attempt at humor. Guess ill just keep day job.

Well, my biggest concern would be upgrades. When I make changes to scripts I don't make a big announcement, I just upload the changed stuff. You risk passing outdated scripts to new players. Can you honestly say that you're sure you'll be constantly updating the compilation for years to come?

As for public access, that's public access for download... not redistribution. Redistribution rights are a completely different story.
