Anyone running any helpers on Linux yet? I used to use the J-Twat, was it ever updated?

Has not been updated in some time now. Sad, it had promise too.

I thought I had read somewhere that one could use JTWAT via web browser and play it. Like my Java telnet link on my site. Perhaps I was wrong on that, but it would have been nice to actually use JTWAT as a telnet door for those with no helper. At least there would be some script capability then for users, especially new players not familiar with helpers.

I have TWXProxy running under Wine 0.9.22. You just have to run it as a superuser for it to bind to port 23.

Also I am using Wine to run Telnet2000 because the built-in telnet program doesn't like me trying to suppress local echo.

Can you bind it to a non-system port and run it as a non SUID user? I'd think you could run it above 1024 without that problem.
