In a previous thread, someone asked about a ship analysis script. Being somewhat bored ATM, I put a script together that outputs the informaton below on SS. This information is available in the game but this breaks down the holds:tpw ratio as well as providing the max effective fighters (offfensive/defensive) for the ship.

My question is, is this what was wanted? At any rate, if anyone wants this, let me know and I will post the script on grimy.

[Edit] Changed the ouput to use decimal precision on the holds/tpw ratio and correct a calculation.

I'd be interested...could you make the output direct to a window instead of SS? Maybe just as an option?
Some folks have an SS chime set.

It would be handy to have just for the hold/tpw ratio.. will save time using the windows calculator. any chance of making it so it also write the ck ships file, so its kinda dual purpose?

On the window output, yes, that is not a problem with TWX 2.04 (.03 does not format well). I may also output to a file since that is a simple addition to the code. The _ck ship stats output I will have to look at to see what he is doing, but that should not be a problem. I will post when I get the additions added to the script - may be a few days as my ISP at home is screwy - dropped me at dock last night - Father Cajone - thx for not killing me ;).

The ship analysis script is uploaded on http://www.grimytrader.com although I have not included the ck_ship_stats data file as yet. Please read the script description and pay attention to the part about NOT clicking on the TWX window - that takes the focus away and you will be using the plus and minus keys to scroll the window and the tilde key to terminate it.

Please let me know if this script is of benefit. The compatible CK ship stats will be added later.

2.03 users: This script may not display properly. I am using 2.04 (thanks Elderprophet) and that is what I write for.

I must have missed something. If you output to window, it's the -/+ that scrolls to each page, correct? For some reason it is not doing it on mine. Subspace works great.

Very handy Promethius, something I know I've been looking for. It beats having to sit and read through the ship specs in a game for 20 or more minutes via Stardock's Shipyards or the computer prompt in ship to see the different ships. Especially in some edits, it makes it easier to see the different ships and be able to determine what is best to use for what task right away.

When the window opens, try using the keys to scroll. Do not click on anything. Your app (SWATH, ATTAC, ZOC) will have focus even though the TWX window is on top. Let me know if this doesn't correct the problem - it is not intuitive because we alway think the top window has the focus.
