Quick question, even tho swath has a option for rev-helpers, do I need to run zoc to get his scripts to run?

As far as I have been able to figure out individual scripts that Rev wrote will run in swath but the entire rev_helper will not as it has conflicts. You might test by installing separate scripts and testing them to find which ones will work in swath. You might start with his SDT first and then check to see if you can run his CIM... no clue as I don't use swath even though I have had it registered for years...has pretty maps though!

I found that his scripts run best with ZOC. I use ZOC for the SysOp scripts, which we integrated with our ScoreKeeper program.

Thrawn, how did you get Zoc to run on an etch-a-sketch?

Simple. I have the latest state-of-the-art dual processing etch-a-sketch.

this happens to be the top FAQ about rev-helper lately. the answer is, yeah you need zoc, my friend - and don't get any of that ZOC 5.x which i have not tested since it went beta (yuk) - you need good old fashioned ZOC 4.12 or 4.14, which i happen to have a copy if you can't find it.
while i actually DO own a registration for swath, i stopped using it as soon as i discovered ZOC - which was long before swath ever supported any kind of scripting. so rev-helper was designed purely for ZOC and i actually BENT ZOC to my will on occasion, asking markus (ZOC author) to add features for me and he did - MARKUS YOU ROCK!! then swath added REXX compatibility, which still is not the same as ZOC compatibility.
anyway, ZOC 4.x is shareware and it will nag you every time you run it if you don't register it, but thats all. it won't ever cripple itself or be anything less than what you would get for full price.

[red] Thanks Rev. I will get that and see if I can try to figure it out. Between all the help on here, on the forums, and your page, I think I shall be able to get it all togther to work. And if that don't work, I will pray/ [:)]

I have to agree with Rev here on this. ZOC by far is the best for the scripts. I wish to acknowledge the reverend for his help and contribution to Outpost-4. The scripts are excellent, and integrated real well into the program and coding we run on both Outpost-4 TradeWars and TradeWars Academy. And registering ZOC is worth it IMHO. Always good to have two helpers.
Keep up the great work..

Rev, I have ZOC 4.08, and 4.15, and the Revhelper works great on them as well. Just to let you know.

thanks for the props thrawn. for those of you out there who want to buy a ZOC registration, it is $90 for a single 5.xx license. i don't see 4.xx pricing on the emtec site (see below) anymore. i actually bought it cheap as part of a 3-pack that the founder used to manage. i haven't seen founder online in a very long time. does anyone know what happened to him?

thanks vulcan!
it's been so long that i can't remember if i had a real reason for disliking 4.15, except that it was the last version before they started 5.0 betas, and it left a bad taste in my mouth.
4.08 is a good build. i asked markus to add features and i don't recall if you would be missing out on any critical features in 4.08.
i use 4.14 personally.

to answer my own questions:
ZOC 4.08 contains the last major additions to ZOC/REXX that i asked markus to include.
ZOC 4.14 contains the last major bug-fix as relates to REXX.
ZOC 4.15 contains a whole mess of fixes that don't affect tradewars play at all - and the 4.xx line was abandonned at this point where ZOC was almost completely rewritten from the ground up.
i tested rev-helper on betas of 5.x and it was a total train wreck. i doubt i'll scrape the time together to test 5.07. any volunteers?
