Is it me or with so many scripters and the ease everyone can just make one up, does it seem like posting scripts is useless now?
I can honestly say when I play (which hasnt been in months) I use 100% of my scripts, no one elses.
Might just be me.

Well although it may be easy to write scripts, I actually do not have time in my career to learn it or write any. It seems that the ideas of scripts I find helpful have been created by people like yourself, Promethius, and others. I was going to say I always am happy to see a script from you guys and try out. Only because I've used a few before with great success, so why learn to do my own when you have it covered? On top of that, I actually learn more by looking at what your script does. It helps me to understand the dynamics in a different perspective. It also helps me to develop into a more effective player, learning different techniques or counter-measures.
The way I look at it is the same analogy at a store. So many products are similar. You have people that can make the product as well. Does that mean the manufacturer will pack it in? Usually, they examine any possible area that may have been overlooked to provide some new feature.
So for what it's worth, I hope you and others will continue to write and post them. Heck, I'd even drop a donation your way just to obtain them if it came to it.

I've wondered the same thing actually, but I remember when I was learning aabout TWX that seeing someone's script helped me out. I do not think I script efficiently by any means, but maybe from someone seeing what I do they can improve on the script and/or get new ideas. So from that angle (helping someone learn) I think it is good to post scripts.

I make use of other people's scripts- especially Wildstar's. (hat tip)
And I am working with a couple of people in a game who are teaching me more about scripting.
I can read the code and follow it, but I still couldn't bang out a script on my own by any stretch of the imagination. There are many out there (like myself) who frequent grimytrader.com to get scripts.
I realize there are a lot of private scripts out there that put shame to the publicly released ones, but public scripts are a good start for us non coders.
THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO'S RELEASED A SCRIPT AT GRIMY!

Wildstar,
most people don't script. It's up to those of us who can to release scripts, since that increases the potential player pool.
The biggest reason I don't post more public scripts is that making them as fool proof as possible takes a LOT of work. my private scripts don't have safety features or other bloat.

I'm not sure if I have ever released a script that is foolproof, and the main reason is what you just said -- a lot of work. The scripts I release in .ts form on Grimytrader and the ones I have posted in this forum usually have a lot of improvements that could be made. I prefer to put a script out there and then let the player look at it and make their own improvements and additions.
The players have to learn something about scripting in order to adapt to the other players methods. I can't count the number of times I've rewrote scripts during a game to try and counter what someone is doing. One-trick ponies don't last very long.

Occams razor. They either do not like your scripts or write their own.
