Hello, Im curious if anyone has had issues with Swath closing out on its own. This has just started to happen in the last week or so and i dont see anything happening. Everything is fine and then out of nowhere it shuts down and closes. I have had it report starting error also a few times when i try to start it but it will start when i try it the second time. Any help would rock! Oh and btw im not using IE7 and have not installed anything new lately... Thanks |

I have always had problems with SWATH as far as starting errors go, I always just attributed it to my system being a piece of crap; as SWATH seems to love using system resources of which I do not have, heh. I have also had it shutdown a few times when I attempted to bring up any menu in SWATH (no warning pop-ups would display when this happened, and I noticed these shutdowns only happened a few times and after I upgraded to IE7b.) I don't know if you could just copy that new SWATH.EXE file over your old one even though you are not on IE7 as of yet, here is the link that Desert Fox gave: http://www.swath.net/downloads/v1.8.3/SWATH.exe Check with somebody first though to make sure its safe to use or maybe just back up the old one first then overwrite it with the new one and check if they are any problems, if so you still have your backup to revert to. |

Been having the same problem and I have plenty of memory resources 1 gig, this is beginning to really irritate me also, if you find out anything, let me know. BTW this just started in the past two weeks. Also contacted SWATH people about it, haven't received reply yet. |

You can copy the new SWATH .exe over the old one, I had the same problem when I installed the IE7 beta too. I got with Stein, and he sent me the new .exe and said to install it where the existing one is, but it is a good idea to back the original .exe up. |

Thanks I have had the same problem with it just shutting down too for a while, just contributed it to a bug, but I have to say lately with the new .exe I haven't seen a shutdown lately. |

I SUGGEST you either mail support@swath.net or post on the support forums http://www.swath.net/cgi-bin/ubb/swath/ ... tion=intro since many EIS forum readers may not use SWATH. NOT smashing anyone who does or does not, you just think you would get more accurate info from the guys who write and support it. That being said, I THINK (not KNOW) the version Vulcan is using is a beta, Stein's way of making sure his product works with I.E 7. So that particular fix may be set to work only for him, dunno. Again, ask Stein. Should the fix apply to many, I am sure he would release it to anyone. FYI once you have reged SWATH (ATTAC also, no clue about ZOC)updates are free.[;)] |

Sev, I always report any problem to the helper makers of the helpers I use, and do endorse what you said, posting here doesn't help them to improve things, you have to post in their sites, as for me I use ATTAC, SWATH, ZOC coupled through TWX Proxy, I use each helper for different things and reasons for them and when one has any problems I let the maker know, well hard to let Xide know now but when I install the 2.04 I know where to go on that one too.[:D] But posting here does let someone who has had a similar problem and has figured a way around it till it is fixed to help others who has had the problem, you do agree on this at least, I hope. And yes Steins fix is a beta and is available on his site too for all who has experienced the same problem I did with IE7 beta. But it seems stable to me at the moment, and have had no problems to speak of so far. |

Glad To Hear It.! And I know Vulcan knows how to report this problem. I am just concerned about those WHO DON'T is only reason I mentioned it. Didn't want ANYONE to think EIS solves problems with helpers is all. Anyone wh thinks along those lines may end up going with TWAR for Windows or something like it... |

Well I did post to Swaths support forums also just to clear that up. I posted that here at EIS in the Trade Wars Helpers & Scripts forum also because I figured EIS gets more traffic and others might have already got the answer to the problem. Thanks for your replys... |

No problem Pat, if you need to just Email Stein and see if he has any input on what you are experiencing, and maybe that patch that works for IE7 beta works on more than just its incompatability. |
