Well is anyone out there willing to try to teach me how to script? Its about time i learn how to do it myself, plus iam tired of using other people stuff. Cutting and paste piece of scripts together get old too:[ I need someone who can dedicate a hour a night,a couple days a week or maybe weekends ,on the phone or via a messanger and start from the basic and explain how the hell you guys write these things!!!!!

Thanks,
TheButcher

I think +EP+ already volunteered to do a segment if someone organized a 'web-seminar' event. Look into a 'chatroom' style forum we can use temporarily to test, then we'll try to organize a few formal sessions. I say 'we' as I want to attend too. If nothing else than to defend against your new knowledge... (If you're the Butcher on Ultimate M!!)
I think there are several scripters willing to try to help, the burden is (rightfully) on us students to get some basic organization.

If you are serious, send me an email--crosby@aircav.com or through the forum, as I am interested as well.

Any scripters out there interested? If we get a 'class' together on some chat forum will there be volunteer professor-types?

I highly recomend that you take a look at my scripts on Grimytrader. Most of them are well documented, and really explain what I'm doing and why.

Also, check out the following links on my site.

http://www.tw-cabal.com/strategy/twxscripthelp2.html

They go over some of the things that I get asked about all the time.

Don't assume tooo much Grasshopper...

JK Traitor, the time you spend didnot help someone who is TWX Brain-Dead (like me). I would also be interested in a class.[;)]

I'm with Butch, I'd really like to figure out how to write these things on my own. Read all the readmes/ *.ts files and docs I could find, but still struggling with the syntax.

Count me in if it happens.

Heh :)

I'd be happy to teach, and I'm sure that there are others who would be willing. I just don't want the burden of putting it together, coming up with a location, testing a webinar type app, and whatnot. Tell me where to show up, then we'll put an agenda together, and get 'er done.

If it proves successful, and interest is high, we might try to vary the teacher according to the content. First we need to cover the basics of scripting, then we can delve deeper into the various techniques particular to a specific script genre (offense, base building, utility, etc.)

So those of you interested in learning, please coordinate to make it happen. Perhaps someone can volunteer to head it up. Private Message me if you'd like to discuss the options, and possibly put it to the test. I can also be reached via email, ElderProphet at Comcast.net.

Maybe best to have a mic on the prof. to quickly answer questions, but the rest of the 'class' in chat format, typing their questions. That way the teach can pick and choose which to answer and how some may interrelate or set up the next subject.
Yahoo messenger w/ voice has a conference room ability, and is free.
Another thing is setting some subjects up beforehand, so the speaker can prepare, or perhaps recommend a different person for part of the subject-matter. This would also help students decide which classes would be helpful, and which would be gotta make it no matter what.
Another advantage of setting up subjects in advance, homework! The teach could recommend a set of publicly available scripts to have downloaded and at least glanced at before class.
Subjects?

yea if you wanna go the voice route i would do yahoo.. it is clear and has the typing ability.. if the teacher does nto have a headset, IRC would be the best way to go

I think Crosby has a pretty well thought out plan on how to make the teaching sessions work effectively. Good thinking Crosby! [;)]
