Am I the only one that gets tired of scripting and updateing and comeing up with new ideas of ways to do the same thing?
I mean how many ways can you bust planets? A few I know but you get my point.
I think it's time for Wildstar to take a script break
How about you guys?

Burnout happens to me all the time. I'm in the middle of it right now. heh.
Usually it's because I'd rather play than script. Although what often happens to me is I play, realize I need a script for something, and that gets me back to scripting. vicious cycle. heh. It's not really a cause of burnout per se, rather I just don't script much when I'm playing.
When I write public scripts, I try to write them so that anyone looking at the source will be able to follow it. That means no includes, lots of remarks, and long variable and lable names. Anything to make it easier to follow. However, it's also a pain, and it makes my scripts more bloated than they need to be. But if someone learns something, then that makes it worthwhile. And then you have to make it so anyone can use it (idiot proofing) and spend hours troubleshooting it. So after each of my public releases, I try to take a small break. I'd say that writing public scripts is my #1 source of burnout.
Real Life also plays into it. More often than not, I don't have time to take on big projects. Or I am just too tired to put the effort in. When I actually sit down to script, I tend to hammer out tons of code in a very short time. More often than not I get interrupted and I have to put projects on the back burner. Trying to get back to them a few weeks/months later is always a hassle.

Actually I get probably more enjoyement from watching a script that I wrote do what it is supposed to do than actually playing the game.
[edit] ... and no Wildstar, my script attacking Sol was not one of those "what is is supposed to do" times, but was funny anyway.

Sometimes I have fun with my scripts. I made a colo counter in a game but my corpies didn't want to help me test it. So in another game I played solo and wanted to test the script. I had made it to send on ss but no one was on channel 0 to see it. The only way to test it I thought of at the time was to change it to send the echos to Fed. Then came Jester and started colonizing. He saw the Fed messages---as could everyone else---and through a fit. He thought I was megacorping. That was so much fun, I might try that again when I play solo.

I just scripted the output to send on Fed instead of ss. So everyone saw the amount of colos everyone else was taking.

Well, I love to watch my scripts on the fly (when they work) but when I run out of ideas, or see something that I couldnt possibly improve, I just give up. But when i'm in a game and I see something I need, I love to open note pad and write one up (then it blows me up while I attack Zyrian) hehe.
But to answer your question Wild Star, if I see something that can be fun and exciting to try, i'm all for it, if there isnt anything to do, I just play...

Wow old post city.
Look at the date posted 10/07/2005 and the day Akor posted 12/11/2005 . That is 2 months. I am still out on TW break, but I stick my nose in once in a while to say hi and try a script. I am debugging my world sst now. Big time fun.
Don't forget to vote for me at the TW awards for best new script pack available at grimys. (plug)

Well I wasn’t invited to this vote so that’s not fare I call for a recount.
I can see it now.
Best warrior for 2005.
This is the person who you can always count on to pull aggro off you and hold aggro in a raid no mater how wrong the pull goes.
Best priest for 2005.
This is the person you can count on to heal you allowing you stay alive until all creeps are dead no matter how bad the pull was.
Best mod of 2005.
This is that one special mod that you use all the time and have found that there’s no way you can live without it.
